Boehner nails it on Wallace's program
BOEHNER: You know, it can be part of the package if they want to count it. But where are the next $3 trillion or $4 trillion, $5 trillion worth of reductions that need to happen if we're going to put America on a fiscally sustainable path?
I mean, think about the proposal we got from the president. If we gave the president $1.6 trillion of new money, what do you think he'd do with it? He's going to spend it. That's what Washington does.
WALLACE: You don't think -- you don't believe he'd use it to help pay down the debt?
BOEHNER: He'll spend it. Look at the fact that they put $400 billion worth of unspecified cuts that they'd be willing to talk about, but yet at the same time, that's over $400 billion over 10 years. While he wants over $400 billion in new stimulus spending.
This is -- this is -- it's an unserious proposal.
And that is the truth.
And Obabma wants more money for another stimulus package. Plus he wants to be able to raise the debt ceiling with out Congressional approval.

Well of course we would spend it.
We are way in the red on budget balance, so we will "spend" every New dime and still be borrowing.
Why would there be any surprise about that? The goal is to begin to reduce the amount we borrow.
But keep in mind the government faces inflation just like everyone else. They buy fuel and food for the troops and bombers and health care just like "we" do. So if health care goes up 10%, the cost of Medicare will be impacted.
So even if net income goes up, borrowing does not go down until after the nflation nut is covered.

RE: Boehner nails it on Wallace's program
GDP growing at 4% instead of 2% would do much more for any deficit than all this back and forth that crying Jim wants to keep going so he looks good and gets his leadership role come January.
The economy is growing, and like last time during the budget talks, the big issue is the behavior of the small group of House Republicans. They're killing themselves this time if they repeat the pattern. I hope he and the Tea Party keep their hard line up, they're going to reap what they sow in 2014.
