Blah, blah, blah. Everybody says that so much that I don't believe it. It's like Y2K.

I have to agree. Once the execs and ADs get a taste of playoff football I think it will eventually jump from 4 to 8 teams. 02-13-banana

RE: I really hate that ECU is leaving
Things are getting crazy. Saw an article today that said "No one really wants Cincinnati or Connecticut. East Carolina and UCF are merely stopping by (The Big East) for a cup of coffee and might be destined for the ACC." I had to laugh at that because I doubt that ever happens, but you never know.

No matter who is added, it would be a crime to put Marshall and Southern Miss in different divisions, unless they are a permanent crossover game.

The Big East is taken the Battle of The Belle from us with Tulane, The Black and Blue Bowl from us with Memphis.. I'm trying to stay positive but its really hard to get fired up about being in the new C-USA and that's no offense to the new teams that were already coming or MTSU or FAU .. It is just that Southern Miss has NONE .... "0" ..... History with any of those schools or with just about any other school in the conference now but La Tech and that rivalry just started back recently, the Marshall rivalry is still young as if the rivalry with Tulsa! ...

It jut f*$king sucks! 03-hissyfit

You sound like a Tulsa fan . Different rivalries lost, but same result.....it is hard to get excited about our future games. No offense at all to the newbies, but it still sucks. Hope things look better for both USM & Tulsa soon.

Say UTEP, Tulsa and Rice are invited and join the MWC. Would Southern Miss fans want to join the Mountain West if invited (likely along with La Tech)?

It is hard to believe that some people still think, after their programs have been punked for YEARS, that somehow the SEC/Big10/Big12/Pac12 is just going to all of a sudden be nice and cut them into the pie.

Have people really not see what they have done to the non-AQ schools??

Just like the Black and Blue Bowl w/ Memphis, USM is too much of a threat to beat ECU OOC to ECU. In USM's perspective, ECU doesn't make as much of a statement that a team like Nebraska does.

I still think the SEC is the one that would say "HOLD UP!"... we've got 3 "worthy" teams, so why should I give up an extra slot to the PAc?

If ANYTHING... the SEC is the one that would say 5 conference champs (including the ACC) and 3 at larges.

The 2/2/2/2 idea would actually have the SEC more upset than the "non-AQ"s

RE: I really hate that ECU is leaving
In my opinion as someone who grew up 1 mile from Dowdy-Ficklen, started college at ECU and still follows them, making it to a game or two a year from Asheville, NC...

ECU got to where it is by getting up for new opponents it had no history with UCF, SMU, Tulsa, Rice, UTEP (we had history with Marshall coming in)

ECU and Southern Miss have been through this before and if it all shakes out to where Marshall & Southern Miss and others get left out in all this, just do what you have done in the past and will do in the future, WIN!

As I said, I know you guys both have a history of winning, so i kinda like your odds of running the table in CUSA3.0.

I think you will both be left to anchor the East. Lets just wait and see.

On another note, if CUSA could nab WKU or UL-M I think that would be a good fit and could help keep you guys in the East.

I will miss playing both of u guys every year. Great games. 04-cheers

While doing all this hoping, remember one thing about the mercenary nature of all this realigning: it doesn't give a damn about rivalries.
