Really hated we never got to play in a league with VT and WVU. Oh well.

I agree. It is long term, but there is a goal. Football and basketball have to get on the national scene.

It was more in general terms. Speaking about football only in the Big East and the whole conference realignment landscape in general.

Exactly...I love the way people like to twist Terry Holland's words. What he said that given the landscape of today college athletics that conference affiliation will not be a destination but a journey.

I was half-listening to the presser; I remember him talking about how Tech and WVU were once football-only members (which made me chuckle, as neither of them are in the BE anymore)--but he said in no uncertain terms during the press conference today that the Big East is not the destination??

RUMOR has it that Tulane was 2 votes shy of being admitted last year. Damn.

Good grief... hours after being invited to the Big East we are already saying we want to move to the Big 12. When will it ever end?

He didn't say it like that. You need to listen to that press conference again to get the gist of how he said it. It was respectful to the BE and CUSA, but in no uncertain terms he was laying out goals for ECU.
