Several years ago most Charlotte fans probably wouldn't have minded this, now with the way a major of their fanbase reacted to Charlotte launching a program, no f*cking way. I hope they enjoy their AIDS in FCS.
Someone put a Sunbelt or bust sign in Boone.
I'm just mess'n with you. But, I can feel the hate from here. I still think the peepee threads would be epic. But, no way Boone gets in. Just way too small and hard to get to, even for those living in North Carolina.

Nah I kinda like it. I was just starting to warm up to the idea of Charlotte. I think it was the 300 post pissing match over a basketball game that won me over.
RE: ECU's move could open door for Appalachian State
If the Sun Belt or CUSA were looking for more eastern teams, which I think they should, there are only four options as they won't be able to raid the other FBS conferences: App State, JMU, Georgia Southern, and Delaware. Each had big knocks against them last year's round of expansion - primarily that they are on the fringes of their markets. This time around, I think they will all get their chance - and all four would be good additions to either the CUSA or SBC. Personally, I'd like to see all four join Marshall, ODU, and UNCC, but I can see why those three would oppose it.

In terms of revenue sports, that may be the case because of how bad our men's basketball program is right now but we do have good women's hoops, Olympic sports and a solid baseball program. I also think that figure would be north of 30K after the stadium renovations and better schedule that would come with FBS membership.
I think all this movement does open up a door for us but likely not in C-USA. My guess is that C-USA picks up MTSU/WKU and App/GA Southern go Sun Belt.

I donate quite a bit of money to the university and know for a fact this is inaccurate. App is not happy in the SoCon and long-term would prefer to move to an FBS conference with natural rivals.
RE: ECU's move could open door for Appalachian State
I'd like to be in conference with AppSt but don't think it'll happen. They probably have a better shot at Sun Belt. Either way I hope they do move up so we can play them.

Hard to get to for those living in NC? When is the last time you made the trip?
Two four lane highways in 321 and 421 make it very easy. 30K make it to every game, must be easier to get to than quite a few FBS programs.

Look again. Quality football program, nice facilities, baseball ranked in the top 30 last year, great women's programs, great track programs, great destination for visiting fans, a fanbase that travels, quite a bit of market share in the western half of NC.

Yeah I was confused by that comment as well.
While Boone is not hard to get to, it is a travel inconvenience for Olympic sports. At Charlotte for example, teams could play their game, then travel 15 minutes to the airport for their flight home.
At Boone, they would have to, unless it was a daytime game, spend the night in a hotel and leave the next day. That adds a lot of expense and time out of the classroom.

ECU fan your leadership disagreed with your perception of App State, Terry was our #1 cheerleader.
As for trolls wouldn't you be considered one on this board after yesterdy. Sorry for trying to have a discussion with substance around here I know that is frowned upon by some.

ECU is still a member of this conference for this year and next, so no, they're not yet trolls.

It's not just no, it's HELL NO!
How is it trolling for App fans to post their opinions (most of which agree that we are not getting a C-USA invite) in this thread? It is on topic with the subject of the thread, which was not started by an App fan.

Agree, App St is no harder to get to than ECU. Pretty ironic comment from a fellow ECU fan there.
