CUSA or Sun Belt?
Do you want your program to stay in the Sun Belt, or jump to CUSA?

RE: CUSA or Sun Belt?
In all honesty, very tough call.

Basketball looks better in the CUSA even watered down.

IF that call came for WKU, I think I would want to do whatever Middle did. If you take that close geographic rival out of the Sunbelt that really tips the scales.

A few years ago, I'm sure any of us would have jumped at it. It's changed now. The teams that made it attractive are gone. You still have a couple, but they're jaded about being left behind.

I'd rather stay here, and continue building a strong, regional conference.

Tend to agree . . CUSA is so darn unstable . . CUSA could be the next WAC.

Go SBC !! 02-13-banana

Most of y'all are a close enough together to make tight nit rivalries. CUSA is appealing because of UTSA, UNT, and Rice. Without them, the conference is not really appealing to me.

Same for FAU.

CUSA is only attractive to me know because FIU is in it and gets us a close by school.

CUSA was contacted by every football member of the Belt last time. They'll have no trouble getting 2 to come over.

I'm just afraid they won't choose the best two.

My money is on MT, FAU and USA being courted by other conferences. I'm still puzzled why USA's potential is not thrown around more as a candidate for the CUSA or BE. They have a great basketball tradition, large market, a Bowl game in their city and huge fertile recruiting ground in ALABAMA.

RE: CUSA or Sun Belt?
Who says that CUSA takes anyone? I think they will react but Im not sure anyone in our league replaces the economic value of losing ECU. I think we'll lose two schools but I'm thinking that the distance between the Belt that remains and CUSA just disappeared.

It could be open season on CUSA as well. The MAC has got to be looking more attractive to Marshall. A MWC raid of UTEP, Tulsa, and UTSA or others is possible. Both the MAC and MWC look more stable now than CUSA.

MTSU's mind is made up it would seem on whether to jump if offered the chance. Here's hoping that the MWC helps us, and themselves, in sticking a fork in CUSA.

RE: CUSA or Sun Belt?
I think this time CUSA will push it to 16. Unless app st is ready they might all come from here!
Ideas
ULL add NO market since 2lane left.If coach stays will be someone to cope with year in and out. Good market. Building new facilities!
WKU good basketball. Smaller market but add a new state
MTSU adds Nashville area to them. Good athletics
Ark St. Replaces memphis area, Decent athletics. If coach stays will be a beast. Also adding new facilities
FAU really building now. Are they too close to FIU for CUSA to really pursue them
Ulm again might be too close to Latech for CUSA to pursue them

I'm 100% sbc however ido think that if they pull 2 to 4 of the teams above it will hurt this conference severely

RE: CUSA or Sun Belt?
If SBC can steal some CUSA members, SBC (which is what I hope happens)
If other SBC teams jump for the CUSA, then CUSA

Texas teams in CUSA.
Better TV contract in CUSA.
More bowl tie-ins in CUSA.

I hate it, but I'd have my Bobcats jump to CUSA.

I'd rather stay in the SBC, but the grass right now for us is indeed greener there. The level of competition is better. But the money from CUSA (assuming it stays up there) and the Texas teams seals it for me.

The current administration at USM and UAB are probably adamantly against it.

RE: CUSA or Sun Belt?
As much as I would like to say South would stay, right now, as the leagues sit, I'd say go. Reasons why, USM and UAb, would have been even better for us if Tulane was still there. For us I would really like to keep Troy and possibly Ga St(we seem to have really started a love to hate relationship with them).

Where ever your team lands and whoever lands in a conference with you will be short lived. This conference realignment is far from over, when the TV contracts are redone over the next few years you could see many more teams move as these country wide conferences break apart. So enjoy the ride, and enjoy playing some different teams for a couple years.

Never know these days! Nobody thought UNT, FIU and Latech would get in!
