They have changed. The school had a vote in September to support an increase in student fees that would help them finance the move to FBS.

Would love to see them playing football in CUSA. Good coach and an emerging program. Hopefully (if added), they can continue their streak of good hires (Freeze and Malzahn) when the latter eventually leaves for a BCS squad. Admittedly, I know nothing of their other programs.

CUSA needs to simultaneously add quality football and/or basketball programs while also bridging the league together. Does anyone have an updated map for the conference?

I'll take your word for it. Though, one could always make the short-trip to Memphis or Tunica if they're looking for revelry.

Arkansas State in CUSA = Recruiting Competition for LA Tech. I like MTSU and Western Kentucky better.

NMSU Is In the same market as UTEP

I Would think TXST Would be better pick up for Austin and Have good Baseball..

Yeah It make 5 Texas school but If NMSU Gets in before TXST That just be plain crazy...

Arkansas State puts a good product on the field but like Tigerjeb said Jonesboro is Yawnsville, USA. You can add them later but MTSU and WKU should be the top targets in that order.

I think one requirement should be that the school at least be the top school in their city.

Would there be any support for App from Marshall, UNCC, and ODU this time around? Rumor was ECU was the only member that considered App the last round. If CUSA went to 16 those four would make for great rivalries down the road.

Banowsky mentioned media markets again so I think that means no to teams like App and Ga Southern.

Damn these media "markets". App has as much market share of any non BCS team in the western half of NC. Unfortunately we're located in a resort location with two four lane highways leading to our beautiful town.

If CUSA took WKU, MTSU it helps eastern teams and doesn't really overlap with anyone, but would probably require USM moving west. If you went to 16, then adding TxSt removes SBC from Texas and helps of Tulsa, UTEP, and/or Rice bolts, but TxSt is just down the road from UTSA. ULL re-establishes the south LA market, but Tech would probably prefer to not have them. They are a solid all around program though.

If CUSA added the 4 teams I listed above, it would really hurt the SBC. All of the programs listed have decent support and average 19k-23k range like most of the rest of us.

I really don't know if these 16 team conferences will work all that great, but I doubt CUSA has all of its current teams in a few years (or days/weeks for that matter).

With no ECU and no UCF, that's possible, BUT that puts pretty much every previous conference winner on the West side of the conference, so I don't think it'd happen.
