You shouldn't expect it. The Big East will likely reach far out west from here on out to appease Boise. And, I would not be at all surprised if UAB got an invite before USM. This has nothing to do with football. It's completely about tv sets.

Tulsa- bigger market, good athletics
Rice- hey, they're in a big city and have good academics. Worked for Tulane
MTSU- big market
UAB- bigger market

USM should be ready to go FB only. I agree about UAB. I also think Marshall could get a shot at FB only and should be getting ready for it.

I have not heard any comments from the West. I bet there is some questioning today if BSU and SDSU made the right move. I really thought Fresno St. was going to be the next slot. Who know what in the hell is going to happen. USM just needs to be ready. I wish yall the best.

BE will go out West next...Fresno, UNLV, UTEP could all be targets.

You might not be aware that we were going to accept a football only invitation to CUSA back when Bob was our coach. The plan was to park our basketball in the Horizon league, if I remember correctly. Greg White was not a happy camper about the idea, but the plan failed at the twelve hour.

This is true. With UL; UC and UConn wanting to leave the BE, the BE will turn into CUSA Rev2.

I think Tulsa will be waiting next to USM. Good athletics is not important to the Big East. Tulsa does have good academics, also not important.

I think it would have to be an all sports invite before we would consider making such a move so I don't ever see it happening. I do enjoy having ECU on the schedule though. I think we'll meet up in a few games down the road.
