RE: TX State
Why? We've already got a TON of Texas schools, we don't need more! Does the CUSA think we're gonna be raided by the MWC? Although, I'd be okay with it if it forces LATech into the east division, I want to play them real bad.

RE: TX State
I much prefer WKU and Middle Tennessee over Texas State. Better overall athletic programs.

Went to the LA Tech TX State game this year. Had a great experience and they had wonderful facilities. Makes a good road trip. I am for it.

Nope... No offense to TxSt fans, but if we're going to move quickly...

I'd want WKU, N.Ill, MTSU in that order.

TxState is nowhere on my radar if I'm looking for schools, as the Texas C-USA market is still full at the moment.

They would be a good addition, I think. They had a good turnout at the Alamodome last week.

C-USA needs to add Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee NOW.

Texas St to get the Sun Belt out of Texas and FAU to get them out of Florida. Then MTSU and WKU for 2 good all around athletic programs to get us to 16. Would also like to have Arkansas St and ULL. 18 sounds good. Strength in numbers.

RE: TX State
At this point, I am curious why we would be in the mix. We have a large student body, new facilities, a good funding source, good location BUT

-- From what I have always read, the eastern schools don't want any more Texas teams. Adding UTSA and UNT did add to the total number of Texas schools, it just replaced the two (UH and SMU) you lost.

-- Do the Texas schools want to add us to their gang? UTSA knows how good the rivalry is for their program, but they are creating separation between the "Texas Twins" by having us in a separate conference. Based on reading the SBC and UNT messageboards for the past few years, they have no interest in being conference mates with us.

Anyone who wants MTSU over Texas State has obviously never been to San Marcos.

BTW, Texas State is right smack in the middle of the Austin-San Antonio media market. And yes, people in Austin do care about TSU.

C-USA already has the Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and El Paso markets. Besides adding a quick easy road game for UTSA, Texas will do little for the rest of the conference.

Boise and San Diego seem ready to bolt back to the MWC any day now. If that happens, Houston and SMU may be right behind them. Nobody wants to be the last guy on a sinking ship. The Big East probably should have taken the ESPN deal, and tightened there hold on their new members. Now, if the Big East can't generate a sizable t.v. contract they may go the way of the WAC. With no BCS money, and cross contenental travel expenses, they need to produce a large media deal.

12 teams in C-USA is fine. All the prospective additions people are listing will still be there down the road, should they be needed.

ECU didn't want more Texas teams. They're gone. So it's wide open.

TSU has legitimate pull in the Austin market.

RE: TX State
SWC was pretty successful for a long time and it had quite a few Texas schools as I recall. I would be very happy to see TxSt added. While I do think 12 is a perfect number for a conference, I think it is a huge risk for someone like CUSA which could lose 3/4 schools overnight and then you would be scrambling. It is probably a necessity to have at least 14.

We have to add at least one for next year to keep the championship game since Tulane is gone.

The SWC also brokeup because it had quite a few Texas schools, a complete membership of them as a matter of fact later on.
