I find it interesting that you continue to refer to the Memphis basketball program as low-level.

I guess that is where we differ. Sure Wolo would be fine at a low-level school such as Dartmouth.

I think Memphis is much too fine for his low standards.

Dave Woloshin used to do the sports reports on Rock 103.
Drake and Zeke would have field-day on him. They would ask him really tough sports questions like...

What position player hikes the ball to the quarterback?

Dave would have no idea, he would answer things like Receiver! and everyone would just crack up laughing... And no, he wasnt playing along. He used to get really aggravated because they did that stuff to him. It was hilarious.

I know....I don't know much about FB and my BF took me my first FB game 3 or 4 years ago against Ole Miss. My first question was where did the 55 yard line go....seriously.

MemphisBlazer,

I did not say no one should ever lose their job if they aren't doing a good job. But that should be for bosses to decide. Not a chorus of people from people who really shouldn't care that much.

I'm saying that people who form petitions to get other people fired over something that really isn't that big of deal, are being grade-one A-holes.

Even if you don't like Woloshin, just don't listen to him. Change the channel. With the Internet and everything their are other ways to get the score,

Does it really matter how low or high level the job is. It's a job, you can either do it or not. Bottom line. He can't, move on to something you can be good at. Take pride in your work, I do....

TigerBandit bringing the good Christian thing in didn't really give his McCarthyism rant any good standing. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though. I like Woloshin, know his son fairly well and I think he just has to go. But TB please come to my job and find problems with how I do it.

If you can form a petition to get someone fired and then sleep well at night, then good for you.

What is Jesus's main commandment? Love your brother as yourself.

Dave Woloshen is a human being with real feelings.

Memphis Tiger sports isn't that big that creating a petition like this won't get back to him. How would you feel if you were him and saw this? Does that not count for anything? He isn't a coach making millions of dollars a year, so you can't use that as an excuse.

Forming a petiton like this is nasty and cruel. I really don't see how anyone could think otherwise. People who hate someone this much need to do some real soul searching, imo.

If a person is bad at his job, being a Christian and being critical has nothing to do with it. He is making a nice living doing a bad job. I don't care how nice a person is, if he isn't competent to do his job, he needs to go. Rip was a nice guy, but a poor coach, we fired him. Less Miles is a nut job and isn't a very good coach, but he manages to win and that's the bottom line. Job performance is #1 when it comes to your lively hood. Being a Christian and being nice are important, but you can't hire a guy because he is nice if he is bad at his job.

This is where you guys take it one step too far.

This is your faulty logic.

1) I hate Woloshin, and think he sucks at his job.
2) I posted on the message board, and I got 10 people to agree with me.
3) Therefore, everyone agrees with me.
4) Therefore, I am going to start a petition to have him fired.
5) Even though, this could result in tragedy for a man, it is worth it because this is such an important job and the Memphis Tigers are such an important program to me.

This is the logic you should have used.
1) I hate Woloshin and think he sucks at his job.
2) Take a deep breath
3) It's not that big of a deal.

It's NOT a big deal if a man makes 6 figures doing a bad job? He is the VOICE of our program. It is vital to the program to have a competent person on the radio.

If you think it's ok to pay a man a large salary to do a bad job, you have mighty low standards and obviously don't own a company.

Would you be happy if a plumber installed a hot water heater and it leaked? Sure you would. Plumber Larry is a nice guy. He ruined my ceiling, but he is so nice, I won't complain.

Do you have any proof that Wolo makes more than $100,000 a year?

I've said this in every Wolo-bash thread on this board. The same 10-15 people get on here and claim that "every Tiger fan thinks Wolo sucks".

Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Online petitions are silly and will lead to nothing, but whatever makes you feel better...

The real cowards are the ones that sign as "anonymous". If you're not man or woman enough to sign your name, you should keep your request to have someone lose their job to yourself.

If you really believe the fate of the program has anything to do with firing Woloshin, then you guys are living in a fantasy world.

You know we would really be a great football team if it wasn't for our lousy play-by-play guy!

You know we would have won the national championship against Kansas if it wasn't for our lousy play-by-play guy!

BWWWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

That's some funny stuff!

It doesn't matter if he makes 25k per year, he does a BAD job. I would bet he makes 6 figures being the voice on basketball and football, plus the commercial time he does associated with his Tiger duties. I would be shocked if he didn't. Either way, we have the money to pay a competent voice and Dave AIN"T it.

What difference does it make? The man gets paid to do a job. Either do it well or get the hell out.
