USM and USF better get on that list.

Also if we can lure Hudson back from coaching only the linebackers at FSU (comparable current pay or a nice raise of what we paid him before whichever is the most) to become DC and AHC we better fire Mitchell on the spot

Hudson got a raise to go to FSU. He didn't just leave for shiggles. Right now I think our AHC is Wiley. Personally, I'd rather see us move Wiley to DC and bring in someone better to work with the DB's if we're gonna fire mitchell.

As a coach, if you're not an ECU alum and FSU offered you a job for the same pay as ECU. You would be on he next plane to Florida.

It's sad but it's the way it is

You have him listed as fired, but I thought he was retiring anyway?

Hudson received a pretty significant pay raise as FSU offered him $340k with no FL State income taxes. ECU was paying Hudson closer to $200k as DC and with 7.75% NC State income tax on that. I think even taking the money out of it Hudson saw the writing on the wall of the rebuilding of the ECU Defense with CJ Wilson, Linval Joseph and Jay Ross leaving for the NFL and the largest Sr. graduating class in the country. He had an opportunity to go work with Jimbo Fischer at FSU and he jumped on it. Did not hurt the FSU cause that the money was more and the weather was better for riding his Harley.

I do not understand the Purdue and NC State firings.

NC State is probably the fourth best team in the ACC and will have 3 straight winning seasons.

Purdue is going to go to its second straight bowl game. Purdue played Notre Dame and Ohio State - the only two undefeated teams - to single possession games on the road. Drew Brees is not walking through that door.

Both programs must have unrealistic expectations.

Gotta look deeper in the numbers to see why TOB was fired.
Six seasons and a 40-35 record, three consecutive bowl games and four in the past five seasons, buttt......

He never crack the .500 mark in ACC play, posting a 22-26 record.
He went 11-19 against ACC Atlantic Division teams and just 1-14 on the road against them in six seasons.

Your conference and your division is the benchmark. TOB wasn't getting it done.

Funny that Cutcliffe is now the longest tenured guy around now.

He was a bad hire to begin with. He plays boring football, has no imagination, and ran off one of the best QB's in the country because he still tries to play 1970's football.

State fans did not want him to begin with, but remember, most good coaches don't want to go there. NCSU coaching searches are always fun to watch from the outside.

John L was not fired. He signed a one year contract as an interim head coach. The year is up

The bolded part is what I don't understand about getting rid of him. You don't get rid of a winning coach if you can't replace him with someone better.
