There's an increasing chance that WVU vs. Pitt is the Pinstripe Bowl this year. I bet the Yanks would love to see the Brawl in New York.

RE: Big 12 - Bowl Projections
I'm sure the Yanks would love to see WVU-Pitt in the Pinstripe Bowl. It would guarantee a sellout. But I doubt it would get much in the way of ratings. WVU and Pitt are in the same demographic, which means most of the nation could care less...

I do see some progress. It may take more time than that to turn it around, though. At least in recent years we've shown some commitment to football. Our facilities won't ever match up to the elites, but they've definitely improved in recent years.

RE: Big 12 - Bowl Projections
The Big 12's 90% bowl eligibility rate is the highest in history. And since ISU wouldn't have been eligible had KU beat them, we can proudly say that we helped our conference to achieve that mark.
Seriously - congratulations to all the other schools in the Big 12 for their fine seasons. They may not have all been what you'd hoped for, but it is good to see the conference do so well.
And while it's bowling season, it's also time for the important sport to be underway.

Well it isn't the Brawl, but the Schwartzwalder Trophy is up for grabs at least one more time.

And almost nobody will be watching, outside of WVU and Syracuse fans...

The Brawl at Yankee Stadium would've done much better ratings wise.

RE: Big 12 - Bowl Projections
brista, I'm not sure that either game (WVU-SU/WVU-Pitt) would get much besides the core audience, even though I'd like to say otherwise. But outside of the fans of those particular schools, and some fans of our old rivals, most of the nation could care less...
It's eastern football, which is basically dead. Most of the east could care less, much less the rest of the nation...

Sadly you're right about that. Eastern football had its final nail in the coffin the day Rutgers was invited to the Big Ten.

Seems like Pitt gets sent to Birmingham every year. No idea why.
