RE: Kent State @ Nebraska
Is this Goodson's coming out party or was this an anomaly? Has Thomas beaten out Brewer for the starting PG spot or does the coaching staff like Brewer/Pope coming off of the bench together?
Ortiz has been impressive for being a true freshmen. Manley didnt get any minutes @ Nebraska, is he injured? Suspended?
Good win, considering it was the 1st road game for this team. 1st win over @ a Big 10 team since 1970!
Can't wait to go to the Fairmount St @ home & @ Cleveland St (that's when I will be home in NEO)..... (hoping to see what the rotation will be for MAC play in these games) I sure would like to see Spicer/Morris get redshirted this season.

Looking forward to these games myself! Hopefully a bowl game will be in the docks too.

RE: Kent State @ Nebraska
I am not sure about Thomas overtaking Brewer. The B1G Network mentioned that Brewer was sick all weekend. But watching Kellon Thomas over the last few games has been encouraging. Regardless of who the starter is, it is starting to seem more and more like this year's team has depth at point guard instead of playing with a make-shift or quasi point guard.
Alpha, I hear what you are saying on the red-shirt, but I think Earvin Morris Jr. is a valuable player. He seems every bit of 6'4, if not 6'5, and provides some depth on the wing. After Holt and Evans, the reality seems to be that Pope and Manley/Morris are the next two. So far, Morris has shown more overall game than Manley IMO.
As for Spicer, if this season serves as his "get acclimated to D1 basketball year" so be it. But I wouldn't be surprised if at some point this season he is called on to play important minutes in the post. If there was a scholarship sophomore big man I would say red shirt Spicer tomorrow. But there is not.

Watched this on DVR this morning. Nice win. They could have folded a couple of times, but showed some toughness for a young team with some players still learning each other. Nebraska is not good, but a win on the road against the Big 10...11...12...14 looks good on paper no matter what. Starting to get a bit excited about this team.
