RE: "IF" ND were to join the ACC as a full memeber...
Actually, that is not what I said.
I said do not expect Notre Dame to actually help the ACC even if it can save it, if it means any sort of sacrifice. Sadly, as much as you keep trying to argue the point, you have actually confirmed exactly what I have said, and even made the point for me better than I could.
Also keep in mind, Notre Dame does not and to date cannot survive as a full independent. They are not. They are independent in football. There are several other schools that could easily operate in that form if they wanted to. As we can all see, Texas could if they wanted to. They have their own TV contract to carry one game that is nearly equal to what Notre Dame gets for 7/8. You don't think Ohio St, Alabama, Michigan, Florida, or LSU could operate as a pure football independent so long as another conference kept their other sports? Of course they could. And as I said, if those other schools operated the way ND was, in terms of purely looking out for themselves, which they could easily do, those conferences would not have equal revenue sharing, or even schedules, true home and homes, etc. You would not see Ohio St telling Northwestern they will only them in football if they do a 2 for 1. Florida does not tell Vandy, "Hey we're not playing in your half full stadium." Every game we play will be at the Swamp." They don't do that. Notre Dame did.
I have no problem with Notre Dame does. It's only the attitude that they do it because they can, and no one else can. That is horeshit. There are many other that can. The only other ones that do is Texas, and it nearly twice collapsed their conference.
So it's not apples to oranges, it is apples to apples. One apple just has an identity crisis, and thinks it’s a pineapple.
