This going to continue after next year? Sounds like it has the makings of a good rivalry.

UTSA's AD has just been quoted that the rivalry will be possibly renewed for the 2016 season. She states that this is due to conference realignment by being in different conferences and prior scheduling. I honestly feel that they are trying to avoid playing us.

This is why Texas State needs to pound their sorry butts in the ground Saturday. Roasted roadrunner is about to be served.

It is this and nothing more. They have a great OOC lined up. Why cancel a BCS team coming to town to fit Texas St in? I bet they start something up. Then again what do they really gain from playing us aside from a rival and and good crowd. A loss looks bad in their recruiting backyard against their closest competition. Goes both ways.

For me its worth it. You can tell the fanbases like it.

Let's set this straight. UTSA has been a rival but not in football. We haven't played them in football.....yet.

I can take or leave a "rivalry" starting up.
We have more history with Baylor, UH and TxTech than them

Cmon now Catmom. I know that we have yet to play them on the gridiron, but they have been one of our rivals. That game always brings out the most fans (and the most fights).

Not that I am ever okay with losing games, but loses to UTSA and Sam bugged more than any other.

I wouldn't call a loss to NutsaCK on Saturday "the end of the world," though for a lot of Bobcats it may seem that way . . . . As to any rivalry with them, I think Al Capone put it best in the Untouchables: (Insert Untouchables Theme music here) - "I want you to get NutsaCK where they breathe! I want you to find this nancy-boy roadrunner, I want him dead! I want his team dead! I want their stadium burned to the ground! I wanna go there in the middle of the night and piss on the ashes." Naw, losing to them wouldn't bother me at all . .. . 05-stirthepot

A loss to UTSA would be EXTREMELY painful to us in just about every facet:

Recruiting, perception, and... well, honestly they wouldn't shut up about it.

Chris - I stated they have been a rival but just not in football.

IOW - I could care if we start a football rivalry and leave them behind as we move forward into the Belt.

I think a heated, well attended rivalry game between these teams would be good for both CUSA & the Sun Belt.

I am pretty sure the UTSA fans and school will act like most CUSA schools do. You know not want to play a Sun Belt school as an equal, pretending they deserve as much respect as an SEC or Big XII team in home and home scheduling.

Crazy I know, but those days never existed and will sure not in the future. You gotta love your chances in the new CUSA.

I don't mind playing home & home with Troy. I think it's great for both of us.

I will admit some CUSA schools don't want to play Sun Belt schools. I suspect that is because they lose more than they win.
