RE: Maryland to B1G Presser @3
The morons on the BTN are saying that the ACC conference isn't an equal revenue sharing conference so they are to blame for Maryland leaving.

I just think that ND is going to stay the course and keep the status quo. We shall see. I may be wrong (again) but I suspect that Jack Swarbrick is not going to make any move in reaction to this news.
It'd be interesting to see if ND sits around and watches the ACC crumble if it happens. That wouldn't turn out well for ND if there are 4 super leagues and a 4 team playoff.
I personally think it will. The last major conference to have teams come available lost Nebraska, Colorado, Texas A&M, and Missouri. They very nearly lost more than that. The time before that the major conference was the Big East. They lost Miami, VT, BC, Syracuse, Pitt, WVU, TCU and now Rutgers and it hasn't stopped for them.
The ACC hasn't been perceived as available in 60 years. I think UVA could be the next one. UVA leaving forces UNC to decide. The UNC fans want the SEC but I'm guessing their admin would want the B1G. As much as I'd like to see it, I don't see UVA and VT being able to go to the same conference. Especially if 16 is the number.
Actually, I think Syracuse may be the next one to get an offer from the B1G.
I think Virginia may also get an offer.
Here's my logic. B1G has a TV network that works on getting subscribers who pay a monthly fee to watch the B1G network. The more subscribers the network gets the more money it makes. It is interesting that if you look at New York City the most popular programs around it are: Syracuse, PSU and Rutgers.
If realizes that they may be able to get the B1G TV network on basic cable for a fee of perhaps $1.00 per month for each and every subscriber in the New York City area don't you think they will realize how much money they can make. Same goes for DC. Seems that Maryland and Virginia are the two most prominent programs around DC so if they can get on basic cable they will make more money via their network. What do others think about this?

This is the same area that won't budge on adding the NFL Network (you know, the most popular sports league in the US) and yet, Syracuse and Rutgers are going to deliver the BTN? OK.....
