ACC #14
If the ACC isn't able to somehow pull WVU from the Big XII, the only other option is Louisville. Any other choices are a tremendous mistake.

UConn... We already have BC & Cuse to represent the Northeast, and now that Rutgers is a B1G school, can't afford to have another school in New England. New England isn't a great recruiting area as it is and you CANNOT water down NE more than it already is.

Temple... Actually Temple would be a little more appealing than UConn. At least Temple offers a decent market, and tremendous recruiting grounds from the PCL, D1, D2, D3, and D11. If anyone wants to know where those Districts are located, go to piaa.org . Temple getting kicked out of the Big East has been the best thing that happened to Temple. Their ceiling is definitely a lot higher than it was 10 years ago.

Cincinnati... Definitely a decent program. Very solid recruiting area in and around Cincy, I'd say its even better than Philly's recruiting area(in terms of football). Their fan support is grossly underrated as well. I'd rather pick Cincinnati as #15 or #16 tho.

Unless HS football in the New England states completely turns around and pumps out recruits like the Southeast I see 0 value in adding a UConn. You're hurting Syracuse and BC's ability to recruit in the region by adding UConn.

Louisville. They're still in play for other conferences and would represent growth for the ACC. UConn would not grow this conference and has nowhere else to go.

RE: ACC #14
Louisville is desired by the B12, if the ever went back to 12 team.
UConn is not on any other conference expansion wishlist.

If you are playing a chess game with the Big12 to see who is going to be the last of the Big 4 conferences, you do not let them have Louisville. You already let them have WV.

UConn will be there in 1, 5, 10, 15 years if you lost another team, or you ever wanted to go to 16 with ND.

It is not that hard of a choice. Louisville is much better.

I don't have ESPN Insider but they're reporting #14 won't be Louisville or UConn...

Interesting

Are they reporting if there will be a 14 at all? The league might just sit on it for a while?

Interesting

i can give a quick summary of it since im an insider it said its possible they stay at 13 until right team presented itself or they could have notre dame serve as the 14th member even though its part time member.

then in a post a couple hours later it says:

The ACC is leaning heavily toward adding a 14th team to replace Maryland and has two favorites for the spot -- UConn and Louisville -- according to a source with knowledge of the situation," Jeremy Fowler of CBSSports.com reported.

Connecticut is ready to make a move, but it's dependent on the ACC actually extending an invitation to join the league. Louisville has the edge in football prowess at the moment. But Connecticut is certainly intriguing due to its basketball pedigree and market size.
