2013 Signee - Nick Smith
(From the Belmont announcement)

Smith, a 6-8, 210-pound forward, has been one of the most productive players the state of Arkansas. Smith averaged 20.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per game on 52 percent shooting as a junior for Bentonville High School. He was named Northwest Arkansas (NWA) Player of the Year and District 7A West Player of the Year. Smith is a two-time All-State selection and represented the United States in the 2012 Albert Schweitzer Tournament in Germany.

"Nick is great fit for our style of play on the offensive end. He is a big man who is comfortable facing the basket and shooting the three-point shot. The most obvious part of Nick's game is his non-stop effort on the floor. He plays with a very high motor and that influences his teammates in such a positive way."

Nick set a school record with last night's performance. He scored 44 points and had 18 rebounds. I hope this is a sign of things to come from him over the next four years.

I was thinking about your posts on your board about a big. Lipscum has them a good one, but they wasted the nice center they had a few years ago.

His stats have been a little tough to find. He is the highest rated recruit we have according to a least one rating service. At a Bruin luncheon, Byrd commented that he was averaging over 20 points per game.
