Public shaming for schoolbus-avoiding sidewalk driver
http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Latest-News...alk-driver

A woman caught on camera driving on a sidewalk to pass a Cleveland school bus that was unloading children stood in the cold at an intersection holding a sign warning people about idiots.

A Cleveland Municipal Court judge ordered 32-year-old Shena Hardin to serve the highly public sentence for one hour Tuesday and Wednesday. She arrived bundled up against the 34-degree cold, puffing a cigarette, wearing head phones and avoiding comment as passing vehicles honked.

Satellite TV trucks were on hand to stream the event live near downtown Cleveland.

The sign read: "Only an idiot would drive on the sidewalk to avoid a school bus."

Hardin's license was suspended for 30 days and she was ordered to pay $250 in court costs.

THe sentence sounds about right for Ohio. A football player hits a band member on the football field, you get charged with a felony but this moron has to wear a sign, gets a small fine and loses her licence for a whole 30 days. 01-wingedeagle

I hate school busses with an undying passion. I try to leave the house before 6:30 before they hit the road. I'm not saying I'd drive on the sidewalk, but just this morning I took an alternate route to avoid following one down Plank Road. I guess the alternate, parents dropping their kids off, would make traffic even worse.

It takes more than an idiot to do something like that.

It takes a self-centered a--hole.

I hope she learned her lesson
