Obi one of few in their fourth or fifth seasons

There are times when K.C. Obi takes a look around at North Texas and wonders where all his old friends went.

The senior defensive end has spent the last four years playing for the Mean Green, which makes him something of a rarity at this point in the program’s development under second-year head coach Dan McCarney.

UNT will honor 17 seniors today when it plays South Alabama in its final home game of the season, including nine players who started out as walk-ons. Only four fifth-year seniors and two fourth-year seniors remain from two recruiting classes.
