RE: Game thread
I'm in a great mood. Wish the basketball game had been tonight for a double win.

RE: Game thread
Who knew that if you complete a pass to yourself, your completion percentage improves.
Kay certainly was able to connect on the long pass and did well with passes out to the flat. Both areas where Munchie struggles. Kay struggled with his throws in the middle of the field which is Munchie's strength.
Maybe UC's genetics department can work on a hybrid clone for next year. Of course, the Cats might get the weaknesses instead of their strengths. That would be OK as long as we played Miami and Temple every game next year.

Seriously, let's be honest. I think we all saw a little evidence as to why Kay wasn't the hands down favorite at starter. He's got a nice touch on the deep ball, but he had a some trouble throwing it over the middle. He's not a whiz a reading the defense (neither is Munchie). And this was Temple, not Alabama.
Maybe Butch isn't crazy. Maybe there was a chance that Munchie (once upon a time) gave us a better shot at winning. I don't know other than that Kay has deserved a shot at starting QB. Rutgers will be the litmus test.
Go Cats!

Kay's passing game definitely showed gaps on short passes, especially crossing routes. That being said, i disagree with most of what you wrote. i saw little evidence in Kay's performance that illustrated or demonstrated why he was second choice to begin with. He demonstrated proficiency in both the passing game and the run game, including superior proficiency in the former and adequate proficiency in the latter when compared to Munchie. i'm not privy to the practice sessions so perhaps Munchie is a 3 o'clock All American (as Huggins used refer to some of his players); that being said, what i saw on Saturday, even against Temple, only reinforced what i had already felt about the situation.
BTW, neither Kay nor Munchie would do a damn thing against Bama so that's as moot a point as any. The more relevant question would be what could Kay have done against Louisville or Toledo. Unfortunately, we'll never know.

And yes coach, this is what so many of us have been screaming since Spring. The guy you tabbed isn't a fbs qb. Thank you for coming to your senses finally.
