I was impressed/encouraged by Trevon Scott's play. Ten points and six rebounds in seventeen minutes demonstrates the depth this team has and makes the future look a little brighter.

I think I said the same thing four years ago but I would love to see UC create a new crowned Bearcat logo to represent the schools conference and national championships.

I agree, i think he's starting to "get it". He's definitely starting to understand the tempo of the game and what he has to do. His defensive skills and rebounding are very good. He can really be an explosive guy on the boards. I expect he will play Sunday quite a bit. KW really struggled with their big guys defensively.

I agree, the acclimation process seems to be moving forward on a weekly basis.

He seems to move a lot more than any other player we have off the ball too. I think a lot of our +- improvement with him on the floor is his motor opening things up.
I thought we looked good with the Broome, Cumberland, Williams, Clark,Washington lineup.
It paints an interesting picture for next year because if Evans returns, we may end up being a small ball team.
Broome (Jenifer), Evans, Cumberland, Williams/Moore, + Big

Im shocked at how well he's shot the ball. I assumed going from volume shooter to contributer he'd improve his percentages but he's up to around 43% from three. Jacob and Gary are both over 40 and Kyle is just under. Not many guys you can play off of on our team.

I was most impressed last night with Broome moving without the ball towards the hoop and others feeding him for layups.

i'd trust jake's 3 point % a lot more than canes. cane has still just shot 69 3's and thats a tiny sample size (as an example, his freshman year he shot 37.7% from 3 in 77 attempts in conference play, and 27.2% outside of conference on 55 attempts, he then shot 31% on the year his sophomore year)
but he sure does look nice shooting it on the catch and release, and a lot of them are all net.

I liked when he had JJ and Broome in at the same time. Tulane struggled to keep up with both of them, and also struggled to get the ball up the court.

i think he's got the complete offensive game. he's tough to stay in front of, can't really leave him open for 3, finishes well around the rim. he has a really good assist rate. turnover rate has been consistently getting better and he only has 4 turnovers in the last 6 games. 18.8 TORate in conference isn't awful for a penetrating guard (shamet's is 17.8 for the season, 19.4 in conference).

I've felt all season long that if Broome takes care of the ball and starts playing defense he can develop into a star on next year's team.

I wouldn't discount the fact he had that transfer year off though. He might just be a much better shooter now considering he had an entire year to work on his shot.

and that could be completely possible too. theres definitely the chance hes a much improved shooter.
but you can get a lot of variance in a 69 shot sample. so we can't really draw any hard conclusions from it.
an example i like to use is the best shooter on the planet. curry shot 35.5% from 3 in november on 107 attempts. his next 105 attempts he shot 49.5%. thats a large gap, and he's the best shooter there is. small sample sizes can get wild.

69 shots is not tiny for a sample size; there's some variance but the more likely story on Cane Broome's 3 point shooting is, he had to take more bad shots at Sacred Heart. The thing is 3 point shooting isn't really an independent type of stat, and it's hard to compare two shooters based on just percentages, as guys ability to hit a shot depends a lot on catch and shoot, or off the dribble - who's taking the bad shots etc.
The good news for Broome is; here he has more assists than 3PA, he's just a more efficient player here, because he can be. His usage rate has gone down, and his assist rate, and effective shooting % have gone way up.

strongly disagree on the sample size. i mean the curry stat proves that.
so does shamet shooting 44.4% in 160 attempts on the season but is 32.2% over his last 62 attempts (the last 10 games)
i would expect cane to shoot a higher percent here because nearly all his 3's here are open catch and shoots. I'm sure they weren't before. but we still don't know how good of a shooter he is, 43.5% would be a super high percentage to keep over a huge sample.
