Like the SMU guy said, the former SWC schools are all keeping pace with each other and this was a business decision for us to leave behind the conference we help found when the SWC broke up and we were left out of The Big 12.

I KNOW Tulsa is going to miss us but will the rest of you guys miss us too? There's no need to ask if Rice will miss us because not only is their opinion irrelevant but also because there's nothing worse than a Rice owl. (Other than a Whorn or an Aggy I suppose)

As I said in the SMU thread, I was surprised that the Big East offered UH and SMU all-sports memberships. I think a football only arrangement like they have with Boise and SDSU would have made more sense for them, and it would have probably led to a strong non-football WAC taking shape.

But since it was offered, I don't blame either school for accepting; that's what any of us would have done.

Will I miss Houston personally? Not really; even though the Coogs have been in C-USA longer than us Pirates, since 2005 we've not played a whole lot and some of those games have been lopsided. But there have also been some great showdowns like the game in '07 and the championship game in '09.

I'll miss the Houston games. Prior to the last 2 years the Houston/ECU series had some wild, entertaining moments. Even with 1100 miles between us it always felt like a rivalry game.

I think I'll miss beating you guys for championships...... so take us with you, promise we'll let you win one
