Somewhere between 24-7 and 27-4 sounds about right to me. Big East Championship not out of the question.

Not sure what we have yet. I need to see a couple games with our full rotation at the 4 & 5 before I can venture a guess. I can't quite put my finger on it yet...

Top 3 finish in Big East and i think they could win Big East championship....regular season or tourney. Elite 8....after that it depends on matchups whether they go further. This team will be the surprise (shouldn't be though) of college basketball.

This. It amazes me that the national media thinks this is going to be a below average year for us. And our early schedule is so soft that we will have to go at least 6-0, and maybe 10-0, before we get ranked in both polls.

I look at that schedule and see only 3 games we should lose (@UL, @Syracuse, @ND). But realistically, we'll probably win one of those big three and have 1-4 slipups along the way. So somewhere between 25-6 and 28-3.

I think Kilpatrick will rock in the BE tourney. Expect a deep run even if we don't get a double-bye. Him, Sanders, and Shaq are all from suburbs of NYC.

It's not out of the question to enter the NCAA tournament with 30 wins.

My gut says this season will be very, very special.

I would not be shocked to see us in Atlanta this year playing in the Final Four, but I expect a good shot at a Sweet 16/Elite Eight run, depending on the matchups.

BTW - I was curious to see how Louisville would do against Bellarmine as I thought that might give us a little bit of an indicator of what to expect, which definitely did nothing to temper my expectations.

This. I still can't decide is losing Gates is huge or if its addition by subtraction. Without Gates UC has zero quality big men. But without him they also have a better transition team that can use their best assets (guard play) alot more.

The Big East is down this year. UC has finished top half even when they haven't been this good. I see a top 3 finish in the BE.

Like everyone else, I reserve the right to change my prediction after seeing the first 3 or 4 games though.

I agree about Louisville. Outside of the BET/Final Four run in March last year, UC has actually been just as good if not better than Louisville over the past two years.

I agree though I really don't see a overly dominant team this season. Lot of teams lost a lot of big players last season and many are being hyped because of newcomers. Honestly I really don't see a team out there that the Cats can't beat on a given night. Another reason I think UC will surprise and my gut says at some point, we will be ranked in the top 10.
