To sell your soul, lose your credibility, and to still come up short. HA HA HA HA Townsend. Time to move on. The stadium deal is not dead, your career is!

My guess is, she probably needs better attorneys than she is, that crazy, bipolar chick, may have just found herself in a civil lawsuit.

She succeeded in doing exactly what she wanted to do. Create a name for herself and insure a steady stream of work.

Yes, crabs, yes, celebrate! The embarrassing defeat was well worth the publicity. Winning!

Where's the "majority" fit said he knew so much about? I guess he really doesn't speak for the city....shocker.

Creating a name for yourself means doing it in a way to garner respect from accomplishments. She achieved none of that. She is perceived by most as a nutcase. Thus, similar folks sympathize with her.

exactly, with the debate she had on sunday, she may have hurt her career more, rather than, helping it. I wouldn't be surprised, if many people who were on the fence about the stadium before the debate, ended up voting for the stadium based simply on the fact of Allala's actions. Hell, she probably made some people who were against the stadium change their mind and decided to vote for it.

See, that is the only thing she did right. The stadium was never up for vote. It was strictly a question of funding. But with all her nonsense and lies, a lot of people thought the stadium was up for vote, which it wasn't.

Oh, my bad, it wasn't directed specifically at you. I just meant that she succeeded in lying and confusing people.

BUT, she was successful at getting her name out there, lol.

As many of you have said in the past. The majority who vote does not reflect what the majority of the city wants. Only what the majority of what people who voted want.

You guys act as if this vote proves that people wanted the stadium. Nothing could be further from the truth. Many people who voted in favor of the Prop simply do not want to be stuck with the bill.

RE: Attorney Stephanie Townsend-Ayala reaction to approval of Prop 3
Prop #3 doesn't prove the majority of El Pasoans want a downtown stadium. Yet, the goof Townsend had her minions convinced voting against prop #3 would kill the stadium. They drank her kool aid. Yet there weren't enough of them to vote down Prop #3. That says a lot.

Also, considering how overwhelming Props #1 and #2 passed, you have to at least consider that most of El Paso is in favor of spending money to move the City forward.

Regardless, the stadium is coming!

every poll you posted on this board from the times ended in favor of the stadium, the poll you posted from kfox ended in favor of the stadium, the election was in favor of the stadium. Hell, I even played your game and linked a poll from the times that was 60% in favor of continuing the stadium if proposition 3 was voted down. Am I missing something here?

Fitbud, I've said it several times before, you're in the minority.

Baseball is probably the third or fourth most popular sport in El Paso. Football attracts around 20k per game.
Basketball around 8k per game.
Baseball 4k per game
Soccer 1k per game ( that is being generous)

We live in a metro area of over 1.5 million people.

If you think that 750,000 people are in favor of demolishing city hall to build a triple a baseball stadium then I have a government owned building to sell you.

Agreed, on that basis.

If that said 750K knew City Hall was a goner regardless, a lot more would be in favor. Sadly, in 2012, a lot of people do not realize how big of a deal a Triple A franchise is.

If it's such a big deal, why was no other city interested and why did Tucson allow them to leave and replace them with soccer fields?

Bah.

2010 Census:

El Paso city: 649,121
18 and over: 460,127

Why are people still rounding up to 750k? The number to talking about is 460K. The amount of possible voters.

the County has 800k in the 2010 census, but not all the county can vote in the city elections.

Go back to the many, many times we have discussed this.
