Team Goals
What goals did you set for your team this season back in August? My goals (hopes) for UofL were...

1. Beat Kentucky . . . . . . . . . . . . . . COGS

2. Beat Cincinnati . . . . . . . . . . . . . . COGS

3. Win 8 regular season games . . . . . COGS

4. Be ranked in the Top 25 . . . . . . . . COGS

5. Win a bowl game . . . . . . . . . . . . . TBD

No matter how you slice it, it's going to be considered a very successful season for the Cardinals as far as I'm concerned.

RE: Team Goals
Boise State's goal is always the same thing. To quote the great Tom Berenger in Major League:
"Win the whole ****ing thing!"

In the WAC it was beat Nevada, Fresno, and Idaho.
We were not in the MWC long enough to make a goal other than win the conference.
Our yearly goal was to beat an AQ team.

RE: Team Goals
I think UConn's goal was to go to a bowl - any bowl. Fail.

SMU's goal should have been to win C-USA (or at least C-USA West), but JJ said in the paper recently that their goal has been to get to the Hawaii Bowl.

RE: Team Goals
Liberty Bowl or Bust for UCF (aka win CUSA). As long as we win two of @UTEP, @Tulsa, and UAB, we win the East. We failed to beat a SEC team this year, but would get another crack at one if we make the Liberty.

This year was an improvement in my eyes when the first three offensive plays in the first game didn't result in illegal formation penalties.

RE: Team Goals
Cincinnati...

1. With a weak OOC schedule and in a not overbearing league...Win about 9 games in a " rebuilding " year. --- on track

2. Munchie to take over the reins at QB improving and maturing and leading the offense...fail

3. Find an adequate replacement for Pead and the running game... Success George Winn

4. Hope Louisville trips up a couple times and contend for a 4th big east title in 5 years... Contend yes..win long shot.

5. Win an upper tier big east (non BCS) bowl .to be determined

RE: Team Goals
My hopes for Temple football this season were:

1. Be competitive in the Big East – winning 2 conference games and playing Rutgers and Louisville tough early shows something, but the D has been disappointing lately. With 2 conference games left it’s too early to make a final determination.

2. 6 wins and make a bowl game – not easy, but still a possibility. With Cincinnati and Syracuse home, Army and maybe Hawaii away 3 wins out of those 4 is possible but definitely not easy. This one is hanging by a thread.

3. Win a bowl game – still pending the above.

4. Play tough hardnosed football – They get a B+ for effort, a C- for execution. The owls are finding out just how tough the BE is on a week to week basis. There are no letdowns, not even for a single play.

5. Beat Penn State – There is always next year.

6. Beat Rutgers – Not even close.

Goal for the rest of the year...win the BIG EAST and win our BCS Bowl Game.

Goal for 2013...win the BIG EAST and be a serious contender for the Final BCS Title...only consolation is to win our BCS Bowl Game if shut out of the Title Game.

I have higher standards

fair enough but you are touting next year...so will I: UC has 65 first and second year players on this team right now...so we are young. Look out nexst year for UC as well...

I fully expect Louisville, Boise State and Rutgers to go into the Preseason Next year in the Top 25 with Louisville being in the Top 8-10...but I also expect by Week 4 in 2013 that the nBe will have @ least 4 schools in the Top 25.
