RE: Mens Basketball
Carducci said last night that Pope's weakness is his outside shooting. Great - another perimeter player that can't shoot. I also get the impression that Tabb will be of little help. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not even sure a winning season is in the cards. I suppose it depends on how weak the MAC is again this season, after Ohio and Akron. Quite frankly, other than the win at West Virginia, I have been disappointed in them since Rod Sherman was graduated.

RE: Mens Basketball
We had too many chiefs last year, which can happen with a first year coach and players trying to find their place. This is year two of the Sendy regime. I hope to see a much more cohesive and selfless team. If we don't, it will be a long season. When you have the second youngest team in the conference, and the youngest--CMU--is gawdawful, there will be some growing pains. On paper, this is the least promising team in 15 years. But seasons are not played on paper, fortunately, and we can hope this is a year that Sendy makes his mark as a coach and develops these young guys quickly. I don't know enough about them to make a judgment, certainly not yet. I assume he believes that these guys can be a solid winning team in this conference this year or he would not have brought them in. Now he needs to make it so.

Going to be an interesting ride.

Actually, Axeme, we have no way of knowing "he believes that these guys can be a solid winning team in this conference this year or he would not have brought them in". I mean, no coaching staff ever talks poorly of their recruits, and all coaches are going to fill up at least most of their available scholarships even if the players they really want turn them down. I'm not saying that he doesn't believe in these players. He probably does! But, we can't really know for sure what he thinks of these players.

Well, it's career suicide to bring in guys that you don't believe can help you win the conference some day. I know you get the best available players, but if you are getting out recruited for the guys you really want, you better coach the hell out of them, or you won't last long.

I also know exhibition games don't mean much. Better teams than us have lost exhibitions to worse teams than the team we played last night. And we did enough to win with 7 guys getting their first taste of KSU hoops.

I for one am not worried and know to be patient! Last nite the late comeback was fueled by Dev Manley and Kellon Thomas, a newbie and another without much experience. Guard play with ball pressure will be key as it is the beginning to any defense.

The post play will pick up and it's important for these guys to get in D1 hoops shape. Gonna be a lot more physical, faster, and tougher to defend let alone score.

Fun fact, he might have to beat out a former KSU commit to make the team. The Bayhawks took Ronnie Moss (the guard that followed JC to TCU) in the 5th round then Guyton in the 7th.

RE: Mens Basketball
I haven't heard much about the new players this year besides what I've seen on here. Lets hope this team comes together and learns to win games soon. Tough schedule this year and while I remain optimistic I sure hope its not a long winter
