Hundred Miles of Hate Thread
This series has proven to be an absolutely unpredictable one since a transitional WKU showed up at Floyd Stadium and upset MT back in 2007. I think that only one time, the "better" team at the time has won the game. Coincidentally, the home team has lost every game but that same game in 2009, MT's 10-3 year. Last year's double OT loss at home torpedoed our season, while WKU went 6-1 to end the season following the victory.

After last week's total domination of North Texas, I look for MT to come in confident, but I'm not sure if it will be enough. Western is off of a dramatic victory at FIU (which is basically the cool thing to do in the SBC these days), so it should be a pretty fun game to watch. This is the first time that these two teams will meet while both having a winning record. This is what both of our fanbases knew could happen in a few years when WKU got its bearings in FBS.

Can't wait to get to BG mid afternoon on Thursday and get primed up for this game. Do we expect a better or worse atmosphere considering the game is late on a Thursday night?

MT 34
WKU 32

Yeah. I'm drinkin the kool aid.

Not going to happen. It will be cold, it is a late kick-off, on a Thursday night. No out of towners and the locals will be at home where it is warm. Only students and diehards if I had to guess.

Although I'm wishing for a good crowd, I'm very doubtful we'll pack the place. A significant showing from out of towners from Nashville, Louisville, and Owensboro will be difficult on a school night. Game starts at 8:15 and for those out of towners, getting home at midnight or 1 am will be difficult. As in my case, instead of four from the WKUApollo household in Owensboro, only 1 will be there.

My thoughts.

1) WKU seems legit
2) MTSU has apparently fixed some of its problems from the beginning of the year

This looks like it'l a good matchup. I think WKU takes it, but its just a guess at this point.

Disappointing that we're bending over backwards for an ESPNU game with that late of a kickoff, but that's just the nature of the beast I suppose. I hope we bring a few thousand.

When we played last year (on a Thursday), MT had 23,307 when both teams had records of 1-4.

MT seems to be the exception rather than the rule in the SBC for most midweek conference games over the past few years. We typically draw an incredibly large student crowd that gives us pretty good attendance. Those games are sometimes black outs as well, which typically draw well until last week, but that's a different story.

I'm hoping we just bring a thousand. I heard we did have around 500 at FIU a couple of weeks ago.

What is the forecast ?

I'm planning on coming up either at or right after lunch, making a stop at Wino's for beer, then setting up shop in the lot on the corner of Russellville Rd/University Blvd. I believe that's where most MT fans have set up in the past.

Don't mistake me for a Troy fan but are ya'll bringing your band? I'm sure you will but man there's nothing worse than hearing UK's fight song in Smith Stadium. Ugh.

Not at this time. Weather predicting winds WNW at 10 mph. Bowling Green doesn't appear to in the path of the the remnants of Sandy. Eastern KY is expecting some heavy snow and higher winds, especially along the West Va and Virginia borders.

RE: Hundred Miles of Hate Thread
I am making the drive up. Along with about 10 of my friends. We are all leaving around 3 or 3:30 (work comes first), checking in the hotel, eating dinner, then going to the game. We all took off Friday as well to not be so rushed or tired.

MT is bringing the band.

I heard this was WKU's black out. Not sure if that's true though. I think Middle brings at least 1,000.

I don't care if it's cold. I just want to win. Go Blue!
