This is according to an AP story released today (although the polling was done over a month ago). Some interesting numbers in the study - such as Obama's favorable ratings for foreign policy, terrorism and health care. But it's likely the question that makes the headline is that 18 pct of the 1,000 folks surveyed on racial issues think President Obama is Jewish.

Is this a poll of people who've also seen bigfoot?

There's something squirrely about the poll that needs to be explained... Number thinking he was Jewish changed from 0% in 2010 to 17% in 2012, Number not knowing his religion changed from 41% in 2010 to 2% in 2012. To my knowledge, neither of those numbers make a lick of sense. Therefore, it's hard to make any sensible conclusion about the poll.

Yeah, that's one obvious hypothesis, but the changes seem more systematic than even that would allow.

40% of people can't tell you which party is pro-life and which is pro-choice. High information voters we are here in the states.
