Troy QB Deon Anthony has been named the Manning Award Player of the Week, announced by the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

The Troy junior beat out USC's Matt Barkley, Kansas State's Collin Klein, Louisville's Teddy Bridgewater, Georgia's Aaron Murray, Nebraska's Taylor Martinez, Texas Tech's Seth Doege and ULM's Kolton Browning for the award.

Passing - 29-41, 245 yards, 3 TD
Rushing - 115 yards, 2 TD

No knock intended, we were all trying to get the FB votes up for Kolton that finished 2nd.

So who starts Saturday? Deon or Corey? Isn't Corey back from his injury now?

Corey will likely start. That is how Blakeney is - loyal to a fault.

I'd say Corey. Our fanbase is pretty torn about this issue, some wanting one and others prefering the other.

Ill be honest...Im real torn about which QB Troy should use....Deon is a GREAT runner and a good passer as well.

Corey has set records at Troy and is a GREAT passer. But Corey cannot run to save his life.

I would say use both and have corey pass and Deon run but if we did that everyone would know if we put Deon in that we are going to run the ball and so on.

Id say just mix it up some. throw off the opponent put Deon in for a few passes and runs. Maybe even do a little something like ULM did and put both in lol.

I called in to Trojan Talk before the FIU game and asked Larry, "If Deon comes out and lights it up, would he stay the starter once Corey is ready to come back?" He told me, "Corey has earned the right to come back as the starter once he is cleared." I can't argue with that, but damn it's hard as a fan to find justification for pulling Deon after an outing like he just had in his first and only start.

Deon Anthony is the Sun Belt's version of RGIII, atleast based on what we saw against FIU.

Congrats Troy....If I were you guys I would Play Deon a lot more. 18 point come back win in the hands of Deon is pretty impressive.

Ya, they can think what they want all day long. Just about anything I ever have posted on their board always leads back to Troy. The thing is I took classes at JSU, and use to look on their board.

Ive pretty much decided to leave them be lol. besides they are on melt down mode this year anyhow.

Ive been to every SBC schools stadium (except Texas State which that will change) I support every SBC team. I don't want to reveal my Primary school, because I don't want people thinking im being bias towards that school when in fact im not.

I will say that I too am a die hard Sun Belt Conference fan. I have no problem admitting I am 100% Troy, but I am also 100% SBC! I'm sure everyone on here knows that already though, and would back me up if anyone questioned that fact.
