RE: MT & NT picked to win SBC men's hoops
Why do we even have divisions this year when we're playing everyone twice? We don't use them for seeding in the conference tournament anymore either. Seems stupid to do 6 and 5 when there's no real reason.

Easier on the coaches ?
You can finish 3rd in your division instead of 10th place overall ? Or win your division, but 3rd overall ?
I would think it's this way because we are moving back to divisions next season, I assume.

Not going to happen, at least in the East.
USA is loaded and WKU fans seem quite optimistic.

It is going to happen. Who does USA have this year that they didn't have last year that's going make up the ground between MT and USA?

Why are we even talking about this?
The conference will be decided by a steel cage match between Ray Harper and Tony Mitchell. Early predictions have it shattering all previous pay-per-view records.

PG Dre Conner is the Yahoo Sports preseason SBC Newcomer of the Year. Plus the Jags added two big men, a JC combo guard who played at Miami as a freshman and a prep school pg. Those guys will join preseason All-SBC 1st team Augustine Rubit, third teamers Javier Carter and Freddie Jones-Goldstein, and sophomore Mychal Ammons, who will probably be on an all-SBC team at the end of the year, in addition to experienced guards Xavier Roberson and Trey Anderson.
That'll do.

I agree. Obviously USA and MTSU will be battling for third messiah.

In all seriousness...
You have one 1st teamer and two 3rd teamers
We have one 1st teamer, two 2nd teamers, and one 3rd teamer. We bring back everyone aside from Dendy and Oden(who started 1 game). Dendy will be missed, but Neiko Hunter is supposed to do a pretty good job of taking his place and I have to imagine he was in the running for yahoo's newcomer of the year(he and Conner were both first teamers last year for their JUCO's, Conner averaged 17 points and 6 assists a game, Hunter averaged 15 points and 8 boards a game).
I think we both have plenty to feel good about, but I can see why we received all eleven first place votes.

We do both have plenty to feel good about. This is a possible multi-bid year for the league. I definitely think USA will make a run at the title this year. I couldn't say that last year. I'm not sure why MTSU fans feel that USA fans being high on our team takes anything away from MTSU.
I swear, one good year and they turn into WKU fans.

I can too, but my response was directed at the "roll through there (sic) respective divisions."
I doubt that'll happen.

Why would WKU fans not be cocky in basketball? You can hate all you want, but WKU has more basketball success and history than the rest of the teams in the conference combined.

It wasn't a shot at WKU. It was a shot at the MTSU fans on here acting like they own the conference in basketball after one good year. Like you alluded to, if anyone could make this claim it'd be WKU.

But in true ECW style, it will be a 3 way dance with Will Neighbor hitting both of them with a steel chair before throwing tony, over pushed, mitchell off the top of cage through a table.
Crowd chants, "whose you neighbor" and the ppv goes off the air.

Seems like a whole lot of speculation to me.

Look back at the thread. We have only taken exception to MT fans claiming they are going to roll through the east. There are other teams that feel they can make a run at the title. We aren't proclaiming we will win it, which is the point I'm making.
