Well, it's time the SEC found a way to get get Kentucky to go and the ACC UNC and Duke to go --- then the rest of em could be excited.

That is absolutely unacceptable, screwed up logic. Why the hell would the A-Sun people say things like this, screwballs? Weaken the league so the weaklings would have a better chance, stupid. Glad the good programs are gone -- even admitting that it damages the league. Screwed up!!!!!!!

Notice that ETSU is not mentioned here --- the most infuriating part of the piece.

Mr. Mullins has now taken ETSU athletics DOWN -- to a level of schools that were not even around when ETSU started playing Division I basketball. Even these clowns have caught us and passed us. What does this say about the great, winning the right way Stanton-Mullins athletic model????

Unfortunately that IS the Mullins way of looking at it. When Belmont first announced they were leaving I noticed that he took down their banner immediately. In his view the league IS getting better when the good teams leave. Another reason we need a real athletic director.

The legitimate reasons for needing another athletic director have been stacking up for a long time now. However, this AD continues to do very well what he was hired to do, make ETSU athletics irrelevant. First it was at the expense of football that ETSU won that irrelevant all sports trophy. Now it looks like at the expense of basketball ETSU has found a way to keep winning it by building points off the invisible sports. That's the legacy of Mullins, shrink the major sports, build the minor sports, and keep winning a meaningless trophy in a meaningless conference competing against meaningless opponents. Dave Mullins has managed to build an invisible empire that has virtually rendered ETSU athletics invisible.

However, from what Dr. Noland has said so far about his view of athletics, he has the absolute opposite AD in place. How can a president who has told the athletic task force to "dream big" continue with an athletic director who has done nothing but dream small and accomplished small? These two are not only not on the same page, they're not in the same book.

How long can two opposites continue representing the same entity?

They killed football and have been spending that money and much more on the minors since 2003 -- to win the trophy each year. If FGCU replaces ETSU as the trophy winner, who gives a crap other than Dave Mullins?

These numbers will flip after the first few games -- especially for the OVC with Murray State's and Belmont's help.

ETSU picked 6th, bottom half of the league, that's just dandy. Let the Stanton-Mullins decline go forward.
