I know the loss stings but Cincy was the best opponent this year for the Rockets. Hope you enjoyed the Glass Bowl

I'm glad you had good interaction with UC fans. I enjoyed my stay in Toledo and had a good time: got to go to Tony Packo's and found my new favorite pizza: Grab n' go pepperoni at Gino's - it rocks.

Ironically, my interaction with fans from my own team kind of sucked. Dude, you're sitting in seats that aren't even yours (they moved from the UC section), you're with a mixture of Toledo and UC fans, you're the ONLY one standing in the section, and you're not going to be heard any better if you're blocking our view. SIT THE F DOWN! First time I ever called someone a dick in a public setting.

You will still get ridiculed for saying it. vewb1 got it just in the last couple of days, and rightfully so. Toledo does not fit what the Big East was looking for or is looking for. They are a fine program, but they do not fit the profile for addition to this conference. They would be a great CUSA candidate.

Sadly so. Toledo simply doesn't have the cash to compete with the BE on coach's salary.

RE: Those who showed up in Toledo
Always like visiting a school with an on-campus stadium. The only complaint I had about it was that the spotters and scoreboard operators sucked. From my vantage I couldn't see the yard markers well on the field, and they couldn't get the current down and distance up until the ball was about to be snapped or already in play. The video board's resolution was pretty poor as well with very few replays, no scores from other games of interest, little or no game stats, and they had the time-outs-left from the 1st half still up well into the 3rd quarter.
Most of the UT fans were pretty cordial. Couple of a$$es, including some frat boy that ran up to me with a big framed poster of some guy in a Minnesota Vikings uniform that had Chester Taylor across the top of the print. He sticks it in my face and says, "get some candy little boy..". My response was "I don't know who this is..." (which was an honest answer, I don't follow the pros much anymore, and could give a damn about players from the MAC). He seemed a little deflated by the comment.
