Sean Kurtz played a lot yesterday...in fact, I think he started. Pali wasn't out there at all. Might have been hurt? I think Matt came in for Kurtz or Poole in the 2nd half...English was tinkering with the defense all game. He stood out, though. He's strong, for a true freshman.

RE: Army Game Day Thread
Enjoyed the game and talking with Super yesterday. Our offense seems to have "clicked" these past two games and its almost a throw back to the Genyk days of outscoring the opponent. I don't understand the rotation of the running backs in some situations instead of going with the hot back who definitely seems to Hill especially the goal line where his size comes in handy. That being said Brumfield had a good game. I like Mulder's consistency on field goals. The offensive line had a solid game both protecting Benz and giving the running game time to work.
The defense seem solid against the run between the tackles but man around the outside edge Army was hurting us. Our young secondary had a few plays where they got burned. The defense seems like a work in progress but the good news we're given alot of players experience. Matt was impressive yesterday and Swaim played an overall solid game. Menet while burning a redshirt showed he has some potential and Creel contibutes every time he plays. And Benz appears to be growing each game. Lets hope we finish the year on a high note!

Did you notice that Army's QB could outrun our secondary? Twice he was being chased on long runs and our DBs couldn't even close the gap.

Thanks! Hopefully, we'll be your only MAC loss this year. 03-cool

Or you could just let us win since we're nice people. 03-cool

He was on special teams coverages. I didn't see him get any snaps defensively though.

I'll re-listen to my recording of English's postgame remarks tonight. From memory, I think he said that he had planned to rotate them in, but starters got hurt (didn't sound serious beyond the game) and the backups wound up playing more than he'd wanted. I think he also commented that he thinks most of the defensive players are OK, but we lack depth; there's a sharp drop-off in quality of play from should-be starters (players who would be starting if healthy) to the should-be backups.

So are you saying that both Coleman and Cotton are hurt?

This would make sense on why they didnt play.. Wow.. I thought we were set at this position going forward.. oh well..

Translation: EMU will be after some JUCO's on defense again this winter. Hope some of those kids that are red-shirting this year develop quickly.

When I was at homecoming the student section was fairly full. This time the student section looked pretty vacant.
