For many who don't care then don't post. Since football season started dam near every thread gets
derailed and posters take all kinds of shots at other programs and posters. If a post or topic is not
of interest then don't reply, but don't tell others not to post because YOU are not interested.

And yet neither of those games sold out and had terrible TV ratings. I don't see what your point is. Maybe nobody wants to spend money to see their team play Cincinnati?

Cardinalfan123,

Actually UC-UF had the third largest television audience of all the bowls that year behind the NCG and the Rose Bowl. Try again.

You think that's because Cincinnati is a "major draw" or people were tuning in to see Tebow's last game in college? I ask this because the Cincinati-Virginia Tech rating was the lowest for a BCS bowl. Ever.

The WVU-Clemson is the lowest rated BCS Bowl in history. The viewership for the Orange Bowl has been in decline for a number of years. There are a number of factors at hand to explain this, many which go beyond UC. Perhaps the suckitude of some of the ACC schools may explain it. Nonetheless, if you look at the total viewership the 2009 Orange Bowl was not that far removed from previous Orange Bowls.

They can't beat you Clifton, good work.

Second lowest rated BCS bowl in history. What an accomplishment.

And you could blame our rating on our matchup against Wake Forest. They have a small alumni base and absolutely no national appeal outside Winston-Salem yet our TV rating was considerably higher than yours in the same bowl and the second highest in the Orange Bowl since 2006. Had we been playing Virginia Tech or Florida like your team did it certainly would've been much better. I'd also like to point out that Virginia Tech's BCS games against Kansas, Stanford, and Michigan all had higher ratings than their game against Cincinnati.

Expanding on my point last year a 7-6 Louisville team played a 7-6 NC State team in the Belk Bowl and drew remarkably better ratings than a 10-3 Cincinnati team playing Vandy in the Liberty Bowl.

I think their point is none of this is relevant to what Mike Aresco said, which is something they are interested in and is the reason they are opening this thread. UC/UL ratings could easily be it's own thread to which those interested in that topic can view and reply. If one is interested in Mike Aresco tweets they are not out of line when they open the thread and say, "What the **** is this **** about UL and UC BCS ratings?! Who the **** cares?! It has nothing to do with the topic at hand..."

You can't get pissed at people for being pissed about a thread getting derailed when you continue to contribute to the derailment. The thread is no longer on topic and they have just as much right to derail it in whatever direction they please until it gets back on topic.

That said, lol at ratings, UC has held their own, their dick is just as long as Louisville.

No. Stick to the damn subject in the title of the thread. If you want to have a pissing contest with U of L fans, start a new thread where the subject is clearly displayed in the thread title, so the rest of us don't have to keep clicking on this thread, thinking some new tidbit about Aresco or the BE popped up.

I generally root for Louisville and all conference teams...but this guy could change my mind...he kinda reminds of a UK basketball fan or an Ohio State football fan...

This threat may be just part of Louisville fans getting nervous for next week... Bearcats set to make it 5 in a row for the Keg of Nails.

We'll see wont we? I hope Jones and UC are as cocky as your fans are or it could be another 70-7 game.

RE: Keg of Nails smack [split] Some interesting tweets
First thing, since when the heck have Louisville and UC fans been so hateful? But to answer if Louisville is some great traveling team. I do not think you guys are any better than UC when traveling. In the old big east west virginia was definitely the best traveling fan base. Still, last year both wv and Louisville were disappointments at Paul Brown. WV usually does better so i'll say that was an off game for their fan base. But, Louisville i think UC thought would create more attention locally than it did. Louisville barely brought anyone and UC fans barely came either. A good traveling team example is when Oklahoma came to Paul Brown. It was the year UC went 4-8 and still Oklahoma had a huge section of fans. The difference of being a good fan base or a bad one is being respectful. Oklahoma fans were the most respectful I've encountered thus far. I'm also an OSU fan and even though they bring a lot of fans to away games, they can be very disrespectful to opposing fan bases. Anyways, this thread is making me hope that UC kicks the living a$$ out of Louisville this year. Still, i like rooting for you guys so good luck vs other opponents

I'll agree never seems like uc fans like to travel to louisville. Couldn't tell you why, but not many seem to go down.

He is blowing smoke. I've been there the last 3 times and will be there next Friday. 3 times ago we brought next to nobody. The prior two times we had at least 3000 each time...the one in 2008 I would say we had closer to 5000. And after the game the concourses were just ringing with Down the Drive.

Agree Mark. I've been to the last three as well and there was some strong UC representation. I wasn't even sitting in the section near the the majority of UC fans and I saw a lot of other UC fans intermixed in the section of the stadium I sat in with my parents, sister and kids (my parents live in UofL and my sister is a UofL grad).

To many good local high school players want to take in Louisville and they sure can't do that when they have high school games on Friday. Friday games used to help Louisville out but I think are past that point now. Im sure others will be glad to fill the Friday slot.

Aren't I coming to a game on a Friday night in a couple weeks? Is Charlie Strong gone and I missed the memo?

It was supposed to confuse Cat fans and have them show up on saturday. 02-13-banana

Good thing Louisville doesn't depend on traveling fans to create football atmosphere. There is a reason why when UofL and WVU travel to Cincinnati the games are moved to PBS. Louisville fans travel, Cincinnati fans don't. We realize UC practices the Friends and Family plan when it comes to following Bearcat football so we will reserve a close in parking spot for that 12 passenger van.

We are hopeful though that the UC football team does come to mid-field and jump on our Cardinal while "praying". Could set the stage for another 70-7 beat down. I know catfans, if a 70-7 beatdowns happens and no Bearcat fans are there to see it, did it really happen?
CJ

POST FAIL

hahah then your fans came dressed as empty seats for the UofL section of Paul Brown last year...

and we do travel...we took 8-10K to Pitt in 2009. We took 20K to the Orange Bowl in 08, and 30K to the Sugar Bowl in 2009
