Breaks down the record every school needs to get eligible.

Right now looks like it is going to be really close on whether there are 70 eligible teams.

That is what they need to do in their remaining games in order to be bowl eligible.

What is UTSAs situation? Normally one FCS win counts. We're they making an exception for two this year? Do their wins against a D2 and NAIA count? Because that's what it's showing right now saying they need to go 1-5.

That is a mistake on an otherwise good analysis. UTSA only gets ONE FCS team to count towards the requirement to have six wins. Division 2 and NAIA schools do not count. Their game with McNeese will not count as a win towards bowl eligibility, regardless of the outcome.

So, they get credit for the only FCS team they've played, which is Ga State. USA counts as FBS. So does NMSU. They have 3 wins. They need 3 more. They get SJ State, Utah State, and Texas State at home. They might be favored in one of those games. They play at Idaho and at La Tech. So of those five games, they will need to pull an upset and beat Texas State and at Idaho. My guess is that the SJ State game this weekend is their best shot at getting to 6 qualifying wins. Its possible, but unlikely IMHO.

Texas State also needs to win 3 games to get bowl eligible. They have 2 games that they could be favored in (at UTSA and NMSU at home). They play at SJ State, at Utah State, at Navy, and La Tech at home.

We're in a real bad way because of the situation you stated. I think right now our best bet is against Navy (and of course, we need to win against UTSA and NMSU) to get to 6.

I just don't see us beating La Tech or Utah State. SJ State is an unlikely win as well.

That's why I was so disappointed with our performance in the Nevada and New Mexico games. If we had won either of those (and I do think both were winnable for us), we'd be in good shape, just needing to beat two teams that we should be favored to beat.

Clearly you did not notice Navy has a new quarterback, so your best long shot bet to win is San Jose, and of course the ones you think you are favored.

Navy is a much better team now than they were in the beginning of the year. I'm worried about Troy beating Navy.

UTSA can be invited if:
1. Fewer than 70 FBS become eligible AND
2. Less than 70 are eligible after considering USA TXST and UMass.

Looking at the bowl situation after this weekends games. I could see the SBC get 6 teams eligible, C-USA only 3 teams.

If South were to get it together, and I mean really get it together, we could go bowling. 03-cloud9

That UTSA loss may haunt us at the end of the season.

With both Louisiana's left on the schedule, along with our 2 teams dropping down in conferences after the year, thats going to be a tough chore.

You guys are going to need to win those 4 and probably Hawaii just to get there.
