This West thing is interesting. You don't dress if you aren't expecting to play

It was reported that his Grandmother died last night and he wasn't "mentally ready" to play.
Perusing TU, AGS, and FCS boards; the information on whether it was West's or the coaches decision is conflicting and unclear.

Yeah.
There is more to this than has yet been revealed.

Here's what Ambrose said after the game:
"Terrance had an extremely severe loss in his family this week and he was in no way, shape or form ready to go tonight."

Hmmmm...that still begs the question of why he dressed. Other TU posters are questioning this as well:
" my thoughts on twest. if he sat out due to a death in the family why was he suited up at the game dancing around read to go? was this one of those RA only rules were you don't practice on Wednesday you don't play? RA screwed us with that not playing Enders during the UMD game last year."

Wow.....if they not only didn't play him in this game, but also are losing him for his next 2 years simply because their coach wouldn't budge on a "don't practice, don't play" rule because he had a death in the family earlier in the week, that is insanely stupid on Towson's coaches part not to play West in that game.
There have been plenty of guys who have had a death in the family and who decided to suit up and play because "it's what ......who ever died........would have wanted". If he wanted to play, felt ready to play, suited up and was left on the bench the entire game, in a MUST WIN GAME for Towson simply because of some coaches stupid rule about practicing, that is complete insanity.
With that said, offer him a scholarship ASAP if he is trying to transfer. No, I'm not kidding in the slightest. Could you imagine Heinecke and West running the show in the ODU backfield? I know its a pipe dream, but still, just think about that for a second.

Just got back from the game. WHOO. That had to be one of the funnest games I've been to. Great playing by the defense this game if you ask me, I hope we can keep it up. After half-time, when we played victory to the visitor section, the TU student section was booing and giving us the bird. I found it absolutely hilarious. Great game, great offense, no voice remaining afterword. That's how I like it.

Ambrose was pretty impressed with TH.
"I haven't seen anybody yet that has stopped that kid, and I don't think anybody's going to," Towson coach Rob Ambrose said. "There's no quarterback out there I've seen so far on film that has his mastery over his offense like that kid does, and that's a credit to the staff and the kid and his surrounding partners. They are truly, truly dynamic."

This guy obviously does not know our offense. Also, I'd take T West any day.

Sat next to T-West's family during the game. They were furious during the game, and talked about how they want no parts of Towson next season. He has well over 15 people that came to the game. Sucks if he transfers like his family wants him to.

Do you have to sit out a season if you transfer FCS to FCS?
How about FCS to Transitional FBS?

I'm not 100% positive, but I think he'd have to sit out a year. The rules are stupid confusing and complicated, though. I think there is an exemption that allows him to qualify as a "one-time transfer", but Towson would have to grant permission for him to be eligible immediately. That ain't happening, and I honestly wouldn't be shocked if they make this process a living nightmare for West.
I really feel for the guy. I'd welcome him to ODU in a heartbeat.

Why is everyone "giddy" about the defense? We only forced 1 punt. Allowed 455 yards. We won the game primarily because a) West was held out b) poor play calling by them and c) two early turnovers. We didn't beat them near as much as they beat themselves.

Coach Wilder says West would not have mattered.
The tackling and on field presence of the players have improved. I saw players converging on the ball carrier every time. The hitting has improved. We were up 31-6 midway through the 3rd quarter. Towson was only down by 11 at half. It's not like they handed the game to us. Count me in as being giddy about the defense.

Performance in the Red Zone.
Also FWIW, West has deleted the tweet from last night.

While not a great defensive performance, it has improved from the last two games. It's a step in the right direction, something to be a bit giddy over.

Bc if we give up 20 per game, we aren't losing much.

And luckily for us, games are decided by points, not yards. And, they rushed for about 25 yards less than their average. So if West plays, and they run for 25 more yards, big whoop. We won the game, Towson scored less than 45 points. If we are going to be critical when the defense stinks, lets also give credit to them when they play well. I've been saying since last year, if the defense is at least average, thre is pretty much no stopping us.
