Will the new conference members be playing (baseball) in the Sun Belt this year?

Oh great. More judgment calls on suspending players by Benson. That's sure to make for a fair and level playing field.

overt boner . . . those two words should be seen together more often.

Speaking of words that should be together - I think i'll refer to the commish henceforth as "toppah" Benson.

How many schools have their student section behind the visiting bench currently? Ours was years ago(help me out KAjun, 80's?) but has been behind one of the baskets as long as I've been around the program(starting 2003).

During the OVC years our students sat in Sections F & G, but they moved them to the "endzones". They later moved the teams to the opposite side of the court (I guess for better TV viewing-- due to glare in the Glass House).

Our students, now, are about as far away as they can be from the opponents bench.

ours are endzone. but it's the endzone closest to opponent's bench. the floor kids say some pretty AWEFUL stuff to them. most players pretend they don't hear it but....

sidenote: i remember listening to games as a kid and austin peay was notorious for putting their football players and students directly behind the bench. i believe the tn. tech teams did the same.

i also believe there were altercations...historically.

Sadly, no. I would have loved to replace North Texas corn field with a couple high RPI programs in Texas State and UTA.

The tournament format change was something I expected would happen, I got to talk to a few coaches at the tourney in Bowling Green last year, and they absolutely hated the round robin format. Moving to championship to Sunday and going back to double elimination is the correct move, no matter how much Bird and FIU fans loved only having to play 4 games max all weekend.

The University of Louisiana's student section sits directly behind the visiting team's bench. Things get pretty intense for some games.

Back in the day Peay had a huge post player that would shoot a lot of threes and hit quite a few-- he was around 285 if I had to guess. Our students were riding him pretty hard, and he pulled up his shorts and showed his big unit to some unfortunate souls. Refs didn't witness. Guy's name was Daryl Bedford.

Don't like the double-elimination tournament, really hurts the teams that move on. Agree with the suspension rule, wish baseball would go to a 10-team tournament.

Too many. If a team isn't in the Top 8, they need to sit their sorry arses at home.

We sat 2 years ago, and rightfully so.

10 team tournaments are crazy...SEC is using one now thats double elimination. The bracket is hard enough to figure out.

It wasn't a one-sided voted to change back, it was a pretty close call. The coaches who didn't like it were the ones who didn't win. The round-robin tournament is not designed to help the teams in the SBC Tournament, but rather help the teams that move on.

If we sat last year, Raffo would quite likely be our coach this year.

RE: Some Changes Coming to the Belt
As a follow up to Jay's post, the baseball schedule will be a 2-year rotating one. So for example, ULM will not play FAU in 2014 and 15, and then it would change again for 16 and 17.
