If you want to discuss the opening lineup further we can create another thread. As for now I will admit that I swayed away from the topic. So anyone have anything new on 2013 recruits?

I wouldn't know what to post here besides copying the information people post at Monarch Nation.

Most recruiting knowledge you'll find on Monarch Nation. Check out the recruiting thread there.

Also, I'm new to this site and don't know if it's possible to send a PM. I was going to PM you Les Geaux about the PG position.

Trust me, Hill will be the starting PG game 1.

Freshman point guard Keenan Palmore, on the possibility that he'll be asked to run the team from day one: "I don't feel like it's pressure, I feel like it's an opportunity."

I certainly hope he starts. I don't think Hill is our best option to run the point. I'm just stating that in August they felt Palmore wasn't ready and from what I've heard two months later is that it is still Hill starting.

I would be happy to be wrong on this. However, the quote was on how would you feel if you were put into that position. No announcement that he is IN that position.

Concur, but it is still more evidence than I have seen on Hill being the starting PG, which to this point is an anonymous fan saying, "trust me". Not an attack on you by any means and you may turn out to be correct, but I don't know you and I have been hearing the opposite.

Absolutely fair enough. Watch Palmore go off in practice now and get the job in the mean time! haha. 03-nutkick

On to Recruiting.

I've heard from knowledgeable folks that Forward Mike Kobani from High Point NC is becoming a real possibility. He has really solid size at 6'7" 250. Richardson has been to see him several times.

Barnett Harris, 6-10, 200lbs, was at today's practice. He's preping at Fishburne Military.

Someone, please, introduce him to the IHOP buffet.

I've now got stuck in my mind a perversely funny mental picture of our front court line up against Drexel including him, Nick Wright and Stuart McEwen. Those three combined might be outweighed by the McCoy kid.

Beat out St Joes. Another win over a big program.

Nothing makes me smile like seeing us win recruiting battles with big time programs.

St. Joes is an A10 school (same as VCU).

If are seeing them as "big time" compared to us, we have some issues to figure out.

I believe the A-10 is widely considered a fairly strong conference, especially with the additions of VCU and Butler.

Listed at 215 lbs. so we will definitely need to get him in the weight room but I like the fact that everything I read on him says he is a warrior that likes to do the dirty work. He did not shoot FTs well in the AAU season. Played with Andrew Wiggins (CIA Bounce), the #1 player in the class of 2013 so he has played against good competition and must have impressed our staff.

While the A-10 is a better conference then the CAA, i was mistaken and thinking that St. Joes was a Big East school.

RE: 2013 Basketball Recruits
He needs to hit the weights and practice free throws, but other than that looks like a decent recruit. Hopefully that hustle you read about is genuine. The right attitude means everything in the Blaine Taylor system.
