RE: USF -Temple Game Thread
I'm not going to lie, it felt great to watch them win in the Big East. Our team is extremely young, and they are making a lot of mistakes due to their inexperience. Regardless, lets hope they continue to improve over the next few years and that we see growth this season.
I'm still hoping to win a few more games this year, and I'll be excited if we can pull off 5 or 6 wins for the season given that most people had us ranked dead last in the Big East in pre-season polling. I'll be happy to see us in the middle of the pack for a few years while we build up our recruiting base.
On a side note, cheers to USF. You guys played a great game and am excited that we'll see more of you in the future.

Running game was effective, Coyer had some time to throw and most importantly, the receivers weren't dropping the ball!!!

You are right about FSU being back to FSU...they lose AGAIN to NC State.
But Miami is turning things around?
ND made Miami look like a HS team last night....HIGH SCHOOL.

Miami as a good coach and is very young with good talent. The key for them will be how hard they get hit with sanctions

Who would have thunked it. USF beats Temple in basketball and Temple beats USF in football.
You know its a weird time when USF basketball has bigger aspirations than football

After wandering around in the cold wilderness for 8 years, I bet a win in the Big East feels like finding a nice warm cabin with a roaring fire.
It definitely does feel good. It was like a refrigerator was lifted off everyone’s shoulders. I can’t speak for the other Temple fans or the team, only myself, but I felt a lot of pressure for the team to get that first Big East win. I was optimistic going into this season, maybe not as optimistic as some (for me 6 wins and a bowl would have been a huge success), but the performance in the first 3 games had me concerned.
I was at the game and watched the replay on SNY last evening and coach Addazios passion definitely showed through. I think he’s the perfect fit for continuing the building process of this program.
The team is young, but is starting to show some signs of jelling as a unit. Less dropped passes, some semblance of a running game, better pass protection, and fewer penalties were all positives. The defenses lack of size and strength was exposed again yesterday by the way USF ran almost at will between the tackles in the second half.
I’m not sitting here saying that either of these two teams are the elite teams of the Big East by any stretch of the imagination and I don’t think Temple is at the level to threaten the upper echelon BE teams, but after yesterday I do feel better about their ability to compete in the conference. Not necessarily win, but to fight and compete every week and at this point that’s all I can ask for.
Go Owls

I completely agree with you. I thought we'd be competitive in the Big East this year and last year. And I think we have the foundation to do some great things in the future. There will be many more growing pains, but we are on the right path to become a pretty respectable program. It all just takes time.

Possibly...no idea what that has to do with ND making Miami look like a HS team last night.
