Slow week due to bye...Predict the 2013 Pitt FB schedule
Not a whole lot of news to talk about since Pitt's on the bye. Thought I'd put together what I think will end up being Pitt's 2013 FB schedule. I think 7Fielder made a prediction about the 2 other Atlantic foes for 2013 being BC and Maryland. I think it will be these 2 schools. If the NCSU game originally scheduled for 2013 is still a factor in any way, then I think NCSU probably bumps Maryland. But it seems like everyone within the ACC and Pitt will want to see Pitt play BC in 2013. Here's what I think the schedule will look like - I'll even guess at the order of the games and whether they'll be home or away games. If memory serves me right, the Coastal will have 4 Home conf games in odd years and 5 home conf games on even years.
8/31: VILLANOVA
9/7: Boston College
9/14: SYRACUSE
9/21: North Carolina
9/28: VIRGINIA
10/5: Maryland
10/12: BYE WEEK
10/19: GEORGIA TECH
10/26: Navy
11/2: Virginia Tech
11/9: NOTRE DAME
11/16: BYE WEEK
11/23: Miami
11/30: DUKE
12/7: ACC CHAMP GAME

I'm pretty sure that BC wants Pitt on its schedule as well they have hated being an ACC northern outlier. That is a pretty good looking schedule... probably the best one I've seen since Tech / Miami and BC left the Big East.

You got creative with the Thurs and Fri games! I was boring and went for all Sat games. No doubt Syracuse and BC probably shoot for the Fri night games, not sure if Duke would or not. Also, I failed to point it out in my OP but the teams in all caps were supposed to be home games while the lowercase were away games. You probably knew that but JIC.

I didn't realize that... makes sense. I do see CUSE hittin up a Friday game but not against us. I think that will be made the "artificial" rivalry game at the end of the season since they are our crossover. I used Duke as a Friday game since they don't care about football. I know that the ACC boards said that if any of the other southern schools were scheduled on a Friday that there would be a fit, but Duke not so much.
I could absolutely see us playing at BC on a Friday night...

RE: Slow week due to bye...Predict the 2013 Pitt FB schedule
I don't think Duke would go for a Friday game due to the HS Football rule in NC that I heard/read about. Thursday could be possible. I'm kind've unsure about Maryland & BC being on our schedules next year. I remember some chatter about FSU possibly being an home or away game.
If judging by this current years schedule is any indicator then our Home Coastal Games will be against Virginia Tech, Duke, and Georgia Tech. Things can obviously change though.

I'm surprised that the ACC would send Tech up here two years in a row? I understand that the one game this year was OFC and next will be a new set of series but just would've assumed we'd be going there?

RE: Slow week due to bye...Predict the 2013 Pitt FB schedule
Based on the 2013 scheduling thread that Joey started, here is a revised schedule. Also, I'm going to use the assumption that the other 2 Atlantic teams will be FSU and NCSU. All caps will be the a home game, lower case will be away games. Looks pretty good to me. Still didn't predict Fri night or Thurs games, but I'd assume that Syracuse will look to do a Friday night with Pitt.

Miko... do you think Pitt would be alright having a Friday night game at Heinz Field? I know doesn't seem to mind traveling for some Friday Night games but with attendance being such a sore spot with administration as is I can't see them wanting to compete with Western Pa high school football?
Who were the teams that agreed to Friday Night games? Was it such Cuse and BC?

(If I may butt in) IMO, you guys need to hold the line on NO Friday games during H.S. football season. Take any other day if you wish. Thursdays are fun, and it's usually hard to find a team who agrees to play on Labor Day Monday, so there's an option as well...

To respond to both posts: no on Friday night FB. I believe HS football in PA is very important, and that none of the CFB schools in the FBS want to play on Friday nights. In the BE, I know Syracuse and UCONN are more than happy to play on Friday night, and Pitt is playing 2 Friday night games at these schools locations. But I highly doubt Pitt ever plays a Friday night game at home.

Well... with an 8 game schedule things will look very different. So, we need to schedule another game yet again next year? I now say this is a good time to add WVU back to the schedule. Schedule the hoopies and the Pedo and then that gives your room for and FCS and a MAC.
I also would have no poblem giving FSU / Clemson fans their wish and letting them have Gatech for MD.
I like a regional schedule that sees Pitt play.
Penn State
West Virginia
Virginia
Virginia Tech
Maryland
CUSE
Boston College
North Carolina
Duke

I think the deal they are offering is Ga Tech for Boston College. They will keep Maryland.

Well, I had both BC and MD on my list so you could interchange them.

Since this board is dead, and we have another bye week, a bump for an excellent thread started by miko before we went to Syracuse.
Now that we have 8 league games, it sounds like next year we will get UVA, UNC, Miami and SU at home. GT, VPI, and Duke on the road. Who will be the other Atlantic team away? The rumor I'm hearing is at FSU.
We need a 4th OOC game. Anyone have a scoop on that one? A little surprising Pedie hasn't closed that opening yet.

I have 0 idea who the 4th OOC game could be against. There was rumors that PSU could be on the schedule earlier than 16 but I have my doubts. Whoever its against, hopefully its a home game just to add some excitement.
