Western the top football program in the league? Middle Tennessee with what will probably be the best basketball program in the league? WTF??? Armageddon is imminent. Take cover folks. Take cover.

Last time I checked WKU had the best basketball program in the league. Also the defending conference champions. Don't worry you've still got women's basketball.

Lol 413. Let him have his moment. I will give middle credit where it's due, they have improved nicely over he past 3-5 season and had a stellar year last year. I hope MTSU keeps it up, it makes for a fun home and home

That minor poll position is more from USM's reputation than anything. Not trying to take away anything
from WKU, but just not as good as Clemson or Nebraska.

Who cares? That's the way it works for all teams. Also, I'm fairly certain it has more to do with beating Kentucky (You know that SEC team?) than it does with beating USM.

I'm referring more to where the expectations are going to be. MT is going to be picked first in the conference this year and that alone is enough to suggest that dinosaur-killing type astroids are heading towards earth. But then again leave it to a Western fan to be competley unable to comprehend the original point in the first place.

So, the team that finished fourth in the west is going to be picked to win the conf this year? Unlikely. Most are going to rank based on how they finished in the standings last year and with everyone returning and the NIT run I think a lot of the voters are going to remember that most.

yes...that's technically 2 words but when you assume god status you are one entity. he's not a person. a deity.

plus they have 2 studs back that they lost the second half. they'll be scary good. i'd be skeered if we didn't have ray hopper. as it is i'm as calm as a post coital cigarette.

But Ray Harper is so Ray Harper that he asked to be voted last and agreed to forfiet the first conference game just so he could have the thrill to catch everyone else. He's not the most interesting coach in the world for no reason.

I might even throw USA in that mix above MT. No knock against MT, I just respect what Dendy brought to that team and what Rubit brings to his.

It will be tough to replace Dendy.

True but that's the only cog they have to replace. They signed a Dendy clone in Nieko Hunter and JT Sulton has proven that he can step up and be the go to guy down low when Dendy was sitting. This team will be even deeper than last year's team.

I'm only looking at what people lost. Every team adds players in the off season. WKU lost Gordon, MT lost Dendy. Those might have been best player if not second best players on their respective teams.

I realize that Sulton and Fant were around last year on those teams and could take over, but I know what USA has coming back, and I know what we have coming back.

Any one of those teams, and even a few more in this league can certainly feel good about this upcoming season.

I'm hoping there is more than one team that gets a shot this year from this conference.

I don't know how many games Dendy won, but he lost three of the seven almost by himself with his terrible free throw shooting. I don't think a guy should get POY if he can't hit free throws.

I'm the last person in the world that will expect anything out of MT basketball, but this team should be better than the one they put out last year. The staff doesn't seem to be worried about losing Dendy at all. I guess we shall see. They may not be better but they will definitely be the deepest team Middle Tennessee has ever had.
