I think it's very much part of it, and I don't understand it. The geography is just too strong for us:

The locals know who Rice and UTEP and Tulsa are. They will care more about those games.

We have loved our time in the SBC, it saved us from the demise of the Big West. We will miss playing some of the teams, especially those close to us.

However the geography is just too strong of a pull and we feel it (along with the TV money) are what we need to get to the next level.

Has San Antonio or Houston moved further away? Did all the UTEP alumni pack up and leave DFW? No? Then it is still exactly why we wanted to move.

Well here is a non UNT poster thinking UNT will win. UNT is at home and has played some good football teams very tough. Chalk me up for a UNT W. I think Troy is a good football team, but I think UNT may be the surprise Sun Belt team this year. There is one every year.

His point, which I agree with, is that some of yalls fans have become very arrogant and braga-boos since the news came UNT would be moving down to C-USA. That is why folks on here are anti-Mean Green now, some of yall have become very annoying.

I get why teams are upset that FIU and UNT are leaving the conference. But does that affect who you think will win this game? I thought this was about predictions, not who you're cheering for. I guess everyone is entitled to their own philosophy though.

And thanks TroyFootball05! I put it up because Johnathan Cyprien is FIU's new all-time leader in tackles.

The funny part of this debate, is in some Troy and other Belt fans eyes NT has proven nothing because they have not beat a fb school. Never mind anyone in the Belt with NT's schedule would have the same record and most would not play KSU and LSU that close. On the other hand, a statistical dominant near win against Miss State at home is somehow more impressive than playing the number 3 and 15 ranked well away.

Troy may very well win but even that won't hide the lack of objectivity being throw around.

If some NT fans think that swapping out patches on a uni is going to make us a better team, win us recruiting battles and instantly put us above the programs staying in the SBC they are insane.*

At the same time, I don't understand why some people here think bad of us just because we are leaving. Geographically it makes too much sense for us. And the TV money isn't hurting either.

Dude, dont spin. NO ONE is upset that you decided to move down. What pisses us off is that you feel you have to have an heir of superiority, which of course couldnt be further from the truth..

I can say without hesitation that 99% of every major argument that has occurred here (and probably every other message board) since I've been posting has a lack of objectivity on both sides of the argument, and both sides fail to acknowledge the lack of objectivity. I would have to say that's just human nature. It exists everywhere. To point out someone else's flaws and throw a fit when someone points out one of ours is very much of the human condition. I suggest to all of you to just sit back and watch some of these arguments from time to time and see how they're all really the same.

We have a situation on our board where you get hammered if you defend our defensive coordinator. Pun intended. Then people start tossing out insults back, and that's not ok. And vice versa and so the cycle continues. There are DB's on both sides, but no one will admit it. Defensiveback-Douchbag reference intended. Just take watch, sit in your lawn chair and take in the rays.

If you'll look though, that arrogance comes from a handful of posters. There's still a few of us who have a sense of realism and understand the move doesn't make us the **** and it sure as hell doesn't make us better than sun belt schools by association. I made a couple comments towards TXST fans that were unnecessary after the move but those were prevoked, and now I can see having TXST in FBS will actually be a good thing for us because it gives us another local team we can actually schedule in OOC. Besides that myself and a couple other NT posters aren't going out of our way to bash anyone, and it's unfortunate a few NT posters have given you all a bad taste. Also, I like this forum more than the CUSA forum, they are just all doom and gloom over there pretty much 24/7.

I don't think NT posters have been arrogant. I guess arrogant means not consistently bashing CUSA? Well if the Sun Belt is too good for lowly CUSA programs and lowly NT then there's no reason for me to continue to support the belt. Here's one Mean Green fan that's been driven away by the hatred shown to NT since we announced our move to CUSA.

RE: Troy@UNT Part 2
Every fan base has some arrogant fans. To label all UNT fans as arrogant isn't honest. I and some others, don't bash the Belt on the C-USA board.

I understand most on this board want to send North Texas out with a losing season, and this game with Troy will say alot about whether that's going to happen.

I will say this... the Mean Green are a much more physical team then they were last season when they beat Troy, and we get to play the game at home. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those games you won't want to miss... lots of hard hits. I hope everyone comes out healthy. Those not attending, get your ESPN3 ready.

You Troy fans coming to Denton, be safe, and I hope you enjoy the tailgating. 04-cheers
