It was announced today that Missouri, Northern Iowa, and Old Dominion are joining the MAC for wrestling. This makes the MAC one of the top conferences in the country for wrestling, IMHO. It was already strong, but these are three good programs to add to the mix.

Forgot to mention that we are a preseason #12 and will be hosting a NWCA 2013 Division I Dual Meet Championships Regional on Feb. 17, featuring Oklahoma State, Wisconsin and Northern Iowa. Plus Kilgore, Miller, and Small were invited to participate in Midlands. The wrestling world has taken notice of KSU.

Does that mean Small and Miller will not be red-shirted?

Not necessarily but it certainly adds a wrinkle.

I cant wait for KSU Wrestling season. Andrassy/staff have really built a nice wrestling program and this season should have some nice highlights. The 3 additions to the MAC are great, as it allows for more national exposure, better competition, and should help in recruiting. Buffalo, NIU, & EMU have all been horrible for years, so the question is each year, will KSU beat OU when they are expected to, and can KSU get over the post season hump vs CMU? These 3 teams will make the league much stronger.
