People can't read, says MSU on there first. But anyways, that is why I said I envy you, because I can't remain optimistic towards about SMU's season already. You all start pissing contests as if I'm saying that Memphis sucks and SMU doesn't and presuming that I'm saying that SMU has a GREAT program, no, if I were to say SMU was better I would've said it but I didn't, did I? Did I even suggest it? No. It's a bloody wonder why ACC fans and CUSA fans have fun riling you all up.

Even with the past three years of suckitude we have a pretty firm base of 20K season ticket holders. Give Fuente a few years and that will double.

I think we all know it says MSU first on teams you root for. I think C-STANG pretty much explained it on the first reply on this thread. But the "suckitude" comment to which all of us Memphis fans and NBE people know is a fact based on the last 3 years, you probably know by now we are now doing what we need to do in turning around our football program. The total overall success of our athletic dept is on par or better than a lot of schools in this conference but unfortunately it took a while for our leaders to realize that football drives the bus. Now that our current adminstration cares about football some of us are finally seeing that they do care and it is bringing a lot of fans back that want to care.

I was inquiring as too how you remain optimistic with your views, because I have trouble with remaining optimistic when MSU and SMU are having down seasons or a bad game.

I apologize, I'm from UofM(Michigan) territory where a bowl game is nothing, and around here a okay bowl game is a failure, so the mindset kind of just grows on you.

we're a hoops school...always have been...all we want is a competitive football team that makes more than it costs...a 6-9 win football team, that's fun to watch, and goes to some bowl games is all we're asking for.

I'm still scratching my head trying to think of one thing they and/or SMU bring to the Big East that BYU, Southern Miss, or ECU wouldn't have brought. Of all the bleh teams being added Memphis has shown the least amount of potential.

Being a fan of a hoops school (MSU) I understand, thats how MSU was before 4 years ago. I wish nothing but the best for any BEast team when their not facing MSU or SMU.
