uk frat boys on front porch
we parked about 6 blocks from commonwealth stadium and to get there you have to walk past a bunch of fraternities.

not crystal cathedral type buildings. real mierda-holes full of drunk college kids.

so i'm with my son and his wife. we all have our red on and they spy us and start booing us and yelling what's a hilltopper blah blah blah booooooooo.

i had told my son not to engage if we run into any idiots but i shoulda used my own advice.

i yelled that they needed to save those boos.......they'd be needing them more after the game. that received a few f' yous.

then i told them to be ready for around 3,000 people after the game shouting....

"they s'posed to be sec"

amazingly....on the way back through the neighborhood it was very sedate. i don't know if the majority had passed out from the 8 am start on drinking or were just in reflective moods.

no issues at all.

win.

Had a somewhat similar experience in Lexington in 2008. Nearly every fan we encountered were perfectly friendly but we ran in to these early twenties knuckleheads that ran their mouth to us big time on our way into the stadium. I've never seen a more morose crowd after a win than commonwealth stadium after we came up a yard shy of pulling the upset as time expired.

that's just mean. funny, but mean.

this could be a serious question.

western kentucky university is partially located on one of the 2 highest hills in bowling green amigo. used during the civil war as 'the high ground'.

i say partially because most of the dorms are at the bottom of the hill. the classrooms are on top. you learn how to schedule classes working your way up the hill or down the hill. you don't schedule up and down the hill.

a-dub.....anthony winchester.....hilltopper legend used to run those hills wearing ankle weights during the summer. he still couldn't dunk but was one of the baddest honkies i've seen play the game. most unt fans can attest to a-dub's awesomeness.

now you know what a hilltopper is.

Well, considering where and how the question was asked, I thought the answer was warranted. Besides UNT and FIU are like Fredo; they are dead to me. Hurting their feelings is a matter of no consequence.

The picture in my signature shows the bottom of the hill at the right and the top of the hill at the left.

It may not look that intimidating but try booking a class at the bottom of the hill and booking another class 15 minutes later at the top of the hill. 03-phew

A Hilltopper is someone that actually makes it to the Top, the summit, the highest point. Many try, few actually ever achieve.

Sorry that these losers bothered you. Please know that not everybody in the Greek Life community is as moronic as those airheads! It's always a small group of bad apples that seem to represent a group of caring and hard working indiviuals.

My group of fraternity brothers and girls had the same problem this weekend in UGA. Every single person/group we interacted with in Atlanta and Athens were great, except for this couple of drunken losers. Once we got back to Boca, my girlfriend starting bad mouthing all the nice people in Georgia because of those morons. It's so silly that some people will let a couple of rude idiots represent an entire group of people even if those idiots don't do justice in their groups representation. I'm happy to hear that you're not one of those people.

I got free tickets a few years ago to watch Georgia play the pigs...I got my introduction to the greek life at Georgia that game. Probably the rudest group of fans I had every met, and I was technically rooting for Georgia that game.

I never knew how much alcohol could be snuck into a stadium until that game...

I was born and bred in Georgia and have lived nowhere else in my 40 years. I grew up a Bulldog fan and though I attended GSU in ATL I spent many weekends of my college years in Athens. As an adult I've attended many games there as well. All that being said, even I have experienced the UGA greek idiocy...and I was a greek! I even had a run in with a group of brothers from the same fraternity I was in at their chapter house! They're just a different breed over there. It's probably unfair to paint a picture with such broad strokes because I know not all UGA greeks or fans are that way but that reputation exists for a reason. I didn't care for a lot of UGA fans when I was a UGA fan and unfortunately it's only deteriorated over the years. Please let your gf know that those drunk jacklegs do not represent this fine state.
