That's exactly what happened last year with the jet stream, and why the US basked in warmth in early March (oh how I loved that winter) and Europe and Central Asia froze their cajones off. That was just "a year," and I'll leave it to the experts and Mother Nature whether it'll happen frequently. But last winter was indeed wild. I've never seen a winter in Detroit that was so mild and with so little snow.
