the nBE was getting slammed by every talking head today on the radio. On both sports talk stations I get here (one local, one national) the commentators were making fun of how crappy the Big East is now. It was pretty funny how mean they were being about it.

If Florida Atlantic were to move to that P.O.S. league they would be making a HUGE mistake.

C'mon now, you know the Big East in any fashion is still the ECU wet dream.

A) what's the point of this post?
B) even as bad as the BE is, I still wouldn't see ACC taking a team directly from the CUSA, MAC or SBC, so you have to go somewhere. The BE teams would still beat down most of the the sunbelt 90% of the time.

I was wondering what the point of the post is too. The poster posted it on the CUSA board also. Is the point supposed to be that the BE would even take "lowly" FAU? Is it a shot at the BE or FAU...or both?

Whatever...we get it, FAU is terrible right now. CUSA has plenty of teams in that that have gone through bad stretches like the one we are currently in. Newsflash: UAB, FIU, Memphis, North Texas, UCF, and Rice are or have all been our current level of bad as very recently. Teams go through down years....we'll be back soon.

So you started a thread about a quote from last month ago and didn't include the quote itself?

And who cares? Have you never heard Howard Schnellenberger talk before? This is what he does when he's selling a program. Before we ever played a game he was talking about playing for the National Championship within 10 years. We didn't get there, but his vision did get 2 bowl wins within 10 years. He said similar things while also building the programs at Miami and Louisville. He dreams big...it's kind of his thing.

I always thought that Howard smoked something rather strong before he would make those comments.

Schnellenberger isnt coach anymore and has no authority over any conference moves. Schnellenberger doesnt seriously think FAU is going to the big east any time soon he is just a showman and likes to talk up FAU. The people here at FAU still love and respect him despite last season. Hes like our football grandpa still cheering on the team.
