1A. Louisville-It looks like we might be back to 2004 form.
1B. WVU-They have really impressed me the past 3 weeks including the VPI game. VPI is the best team in the country not named Southern Cal.
1C. South Florida-They still kicked the living crap out of us.
4. UConn, very impressive against Syracuse
5. Rutgers
6. Syracuse
7. Pittsburgh
8. Cincinnati

I don't think you will make true believers out of the old guard until you smack Pitt this week.
I hope we win this week and WVU beat you in Tampa. Right now USF, UConn and WVU have the inside track to the Big East title.

If UL loses on saturday (or any other BE game) there chances of a BCS bid are basically dead....If the Mountaineers are lucky enough to win on Saturday I like our chances to win out...No offense intended to USF who has a great squad and should go bowling easily...but I just have a good feeling about the makeup of this West Virginia team...Saturday will be the biggest game in the league this yr period

I agree. Considering a loss Saturday would put us 0-2 with losses to who is likely 2 of our 3 competitors and we only have 7 league games this season. WVU would be 3-0 as well. It doesn't matter how much we scored the last two weeks, a loss for UofL Saturday ends any BCS hopes.

2. WVU
3. USF
4. UConn
5. RU
6. SU
7. Pitt
8. UC
Pix:
Rutgers over Syracuse (actually RU had a chance last year)
South Florida over Pitt (Cover those kicks USF, that killed us yesterday)
Louisville over West Virginia (Too many weapons, I'll be watching the BE game of the year)
Connecticut over Cincinnati (but we'll make it close at home)

West Virginia and Louisville have definitely seized the momentum toward the top right now. UConn has played itself into the third slot for the time being. USF, despite the win over the Cardinals, is still an enigma. We will have a clearer picture of where they stand in a week or two. Rutgers is either fourth or fifth with a shot at third place depending on what happens the rest of the way.
Pitt is a total wild card. They are better than their early results indicate and they are going to knock off one, or more, of the top teams eventually. Syracuse and Cincy look to be battling for the cellar right now. I predict they end up tied with one league win apiece. The Orange are talented enough to knock off a middle team, or two, but are having tons of trouble getting their new offense going.
Next weekend's games are Rutgers at Syracuse (12:00 PM), USF at Pitt (2:00 PM), Louisville at West Virginia (3:30 PM), and UConn at Cincy (4:00 PM). Based on my above analysis the winners should be Rutgers, Pitt (homefield), West Virginia (homefield), and UConn. I could be wrong, of course, as anything can happen in this league. But a lot of questions will be answered next week.
