It is good to see you care.
They are licking their wounds; just like my Memphis Tigers. It is going to be a competitive year in C-USA this year - no one is going to run away with it. Memphis will unfortunately have to sit back and play a spoiler for somebody.
I can't wait for the UofL/WVU game this weekend.

I agree and that is not a good thing for your conference in my opinion right now. The polls so far this season have been giving votes to around 45 teams.
In the Harris poll UAB & USM were the only ones from CUSA even getting a fw votes so CUSA will not be represented at all. In the Coaches Poll UTEP will have about 5-10 votes. Combine that with having 75% of the league in the 70-100 range in the computers and maybe all this talk of BCS bid stealing will calm down. Not from you personally but in general.
UCF, Tulsa, and SMU all showed life tonight. I can't imagine BB will be thrilled to have everyone end the year with 3 or 4 losses though at best (UTEP a likely exception).

It just shows that CUSA is a balanced league.... none of the teams are very GOOD, but yes they are balanced.
Who was it that said on this board that UAB was a "legit Top 15 team"?

Kinda like my other favorite league. However, the one GOOD team in the BE will show itself in the next two weeks - I hope!

I have been to Morgantown twice. We won by a field goal and lost by a field goal. I know the Eeers have a great home field advantage. I just hope that no players get hurt and they all play to the best of their abilities. May the best win.

I believe you are mistaken. USF completely destroyed the team that just whupped up on Memphis. WVU and UL have already shown themselves to be good teams. WVU has an impressive road win over probably bowl-bound Maryland, and UL has blowout victories against two probably bowl teams, Oregon State and North Carolina. And UCONN - with their demoltion of SU this weekend - is clearly a contender as well. The BE has 4 excellent teams at the top, at one other in Rutgers that could contend for a bowl game. SU, Pitt and Cincy are disappointing this year, but SU and Pitt have shown flashes of improvement. Pitt nearly beat Nebraska in Lincoln (something #13 Texas Tech barely managed to do), and SU played very well against UVA.
There are no teams in the CUSA right now that would threaten the Top 4 in the BE. Tulsa - a team that Minnesota absolutely humiliated on national TV - handily defeated USM on the road this weekend. Houston was rolled over by Oregon. UAB edged a 1-aa team by a touchdown. UTEP is the ONLY team in CUSA that might have a chance to finish 5th in the Big East.

WTF?
UCF leads CDOA-East followed by ECU, USM, UAB, Memphis, and Marshall.
If UCF wins CDOA-East,

i haven't been keeping up with c-usa but does this mean ucf is number 1 in the east? good lord, they barely put up a fight in tampa and now they're one of cusa's marquee teams? that conference has really taken a nosedive, i almost feel sorry for them. didn't utep lose to memphis as well?

CDOA East Standings
1. UCF (three game winning streak, was manhandled by da Bulls)
2. ECU (much improved, Skip Holtz pointing their ship in the right direction), USM (up and down, but Tulsa is good), UAB (UAB has always had one or two games that they lose to sorry teams)
5. Memphis (DW is the entire team, but the fact that they are on their 3rd QB has helped push them to the bottom)
6. Marshall (They need Randy, Chad, Pookie, Ray Ray, and the entire bunch)

Let's put it this way Mike. Despite hearing how CUSA is overtaking the BE, UCF is the only undefeated team left in the entire league. Granted most of the schools are only 25% into the conference schedule but to have your league leader coming off a 17 game losing streak within the last month is pretty ugly.

Man CUSA sucks. I think top 4 teams in the BE would manhandle any of those CUSA teams this year. They are all very balanced because they all suck.
ECU might just be one of the better teams there this year, thanks to UCONN's old coach from D1AA.

This is funny.
Two of the best teams you list in your league were playing 1AA ball less than 5 years ago!!
Your teams are no better than Conference USA.
I was at the USF/UCF game and I saw NOTHING that blew me away. Julmiste doesn't look like a quarterback. He looks very uncomfortable back there. His leadership skills equated to handing it off the the back up the middle. USF won because they simply moved the pile against a bunch of YOUNG freshmen/sophs who had no confidence yet.
But, even with that scrum shet, UCF was still more impressive than UL.
Put that game in the Citrus Bowl, just 3 games later, and I wouldn't bet against UCF.
The talent levels in both leagues are virtually indistinguishable.
How ANYONE here get can so squirrly is a mystery to me. It's nice, I guess, that you keep trying to compare yourselves to Conference USA.

Keep telling yourself that, only a true diehard C-USA fan would believe that.
It is like this, most of the Big East recruiting rankings the past 2 years has been between 30-50 Nationally. The C-USA on the other hand has been in the 60-110 range.

Neither conference has any room to talk smack at the moment. Both are struggling.
How about waiting until some more conference games are played to determine who's really good and who's really bad.
UL look like they wouldn't win another game after the fiasco in Tampa. Now they look like world-beaters again after their destruction of UNC.
USF looked as if they wouldn't lose another game but was brought back to reality real quick like the following week by Miami.
And whoever thought UAB was Top 15 material needs to be smacked. As long as Watson Brown is coaching at UAB they will never accomplish a feat like that.
Point is even if you're good you going to have a loss or two on the resume. As proven in the last three weeks, anyone can beat anybody on any giving day. That's college football and that's why we love it (except when we lose :)).
