I gave uconn fans a hard time, because I felt there bragging was unfounded. But I have to be man enough to admit that I was wrong. Uconn is much better than anyone gave them credit for. Now I will say that the Cuse/Uconn fb game is officially a rival game.
I really wanted to beat you guys. But I will root for you guys in most of your remaining games.

No Syracuse fan want to hear this, I know.

Viewing this in a conference wide vision, this game goes in the column of making a top and bottom of the league this year as far as not having a bunch of teams at 6-5 or 5-6 for bowls. No coach thinks like this but I suspect the league office would rather have a few 7-4, 8-3, or better clubs along with some 4-7 teams as opposed to everyone right around .500.

Strength of schedule aside, this game contributes to that.

Cuseroc - Thanks for the comments. I always said UCONN is very well coached and we play great D. We proved tonight again. I am not sure if it is because CUSE is so bad on O or we are really good on D. I suspect it is a combination. Our running attack is very nice with almost 300 yards rushing. I could not believe our OLINE totally dominated CUSE's Dline.

Anyway, we lost our starting QB. Our freshman QB DJ Hernandez is very athletic and he is very good. Not sure he can throw but he can run like a running back. I am afraid for his health the way he is taking on defenders. Other QBs we got are walk-ons and freshmen. Anyway, our D will have to keep us in the game until O gels.

Good game tonight and at least UCONN proved it is not a flake. The positives tonight: UCONN had no turnovers in this miserble weather and our OLINE. Hopefully, we will be ready for RU and WVU.

I predicted UCONN 31 CUSE 17. I was not too much off on the final score: 26-7.

It wont be an easy game for the CARDS. As I said many times on this board, UCONN plays very well at home. We only lost twice there in 3 years to WVU and BC. I know our D is better this year cause we got some serious speed. We only have like 5 seniors in the starting lineup so next year will be a big year for us.

Year ending UCONN vs. Cards should be a good one. It will be cold and the place will be rocking.

Pretty good job by the fans considering we were up against Yankees, Red Sox and the weather. The game was a sell out with couple of no-shows. I think the RENT will be an even better place for football once Rent is bigger. It can get pretty loud. UCONN's 14-2 record at home for the last 3 years speak for itself.

UC fans - I hope you guys develop a good FB program. There are a lot of talent right around your local area there should not be an excuse not to win. You got a good coach and you are building. I hope fans come out to support games against BE opponents. I am still quite baffled why your bball fans dont support the FB program.

State of CT is the Husky nation. I cant believe how crazy the state is for UCONN sports. When both UCONN bball programs won the championship in 2004, almost 300K people showed up for celebration. Thats like 10% of the state population. I believe our bball success has helped fb too. Now fb is catching on.

I hope when Cincy build the new facilities, things will turn it around for you guys. Winning helps too but last year fans did not show up either. I think all the BE schools need to recruit Oh successfully in addition to FLA, NJ and PA. UCONN got its first recruit from state of Ohio last year in Billy Cundiff. Randy Edsall said the kid has better arm than Dan O, which is quite a compliment. He is only a freshman and he was recruited by all the big schools before he got hurt. Anyway, he is fully recovered and we hope he is our QB of the future.

You have to beat tOSU and Miami first, in recruiting battles! The money comes with wins, something I expect from the bearcats in the near future!
